should follow on milk be given from 6 months or from the start of weaning..thanks xx

Don't think it matters but please correct me if I'm wrong. You don't have to give follow on milk at all though. It's perfectly OK to stay on first or hungry milk until they're 1 year old. Follow on milk was only really invented to get round the advertising ban anyways. It has more iron in it so can be harder for them to digest and can cause constipation etc but might be a good idea if you are worried that their weaning diet might be a bit low in iron and want to give more than is in regular formula.

Having said that I do plan to introduce it to my son at some point, probably at around 8 or 9 months when he can deal with the extra iron a bit better. You get advantage points etc too on it which is great!

ps. Have just looked at web site and it says for use in a mixed diet - so I guess that means it is for use during/after weaning
