Just been back to the hospital this afternoon for our 2nd appointment with the FS - Looks as though we will need IVF/ICSI.
We both knew we were heading that way as my OH has poor motility. The good news is all my tests have come back ok and my age is on our side.
I came out of the appointment abit disappointed tbh, we saw a different FS (a guy this time) and he just came across as being quite negative. I dont think he was meaning to be, at the end of the day we need to know the risks and facts but he could of been abit more up beat about it all!!!
He said there was only 30 something % of the treatment working  and there is no chance of us even starting this year. They are moving to a new building and not even booking any appointments to see the nurse until Jan/Feb next year so god knows how long it will be before we even get onto the waiting list.
We have to self fund and when I asked what the difference between private and self funding was, he said not much. Going Private you are under the care of one doctor, where as self funding you just see whoever is available.
I hate all this waiting around!!!

hi..just wanted to say all the best and hope your wait wont be to long. im awaiting seeing gyno for 2nd time for all results back which is in acouple weeks and not sure what treatment we might need but FX for you xx

Thanks wanabe,
Hope your appointment goes ok and good luck with your results!! xx

:hugs: I'm sorry it didn't go as you had hoped. If it's any consolation this time of year will pass quicker as it's busy with things like xmas and new year and such...hopefully you'll be there before you know it.

Hi Obe, I'd been wondering how your appointment had gone. Like NeyNey said the remainder of this year will pass quickly anyway. I guess there's probably like about one cycle left of the year, so the chances of getting in for that anyway would probably have been quite slim. At least things are kind of progressing and you've got the appointment out of the way. Hopefully you'll be able to keep yourself busy over Christmas and New Year and before you know it you'll be getting the treatment you need. Good luck hun. x

Thanks girls! Yes thats what my OH said, at least we can get Christmas out of the way and it should pass quickly. Im just a little worried of getting out of work Jan/Feb as it gets really busy but I will deal with it when the time comes.
Hope we all get a lovely xmas prezzie and get a BFP!!!
xx

Hey Obe,
Sorry the FS was negative. Did they offer any advice that could improve the motility or is that something you guys have already tried?
I know it doesn't help but time will fly by - once you get crimbo out of the way you will be cooking on gas... we were put on the NHS list in Feb and it seems like only yesterday - we have our planning appt next month and now i'm getting cold feet

Thanks Rachel, no he didnt offer any advice on improvement. My OH has been taking Zinc and Maca for the last 5/6 mths which doesnt seem to have made a differance. He doesnt drink much, doesnt smoke and is always down the gym, so I dont think theres much else we can do. We will just have to wait our turn I guess!
Hope your planning appointment goes well, keep us updated xx
