Hello all,

My OH cooked me an omelette this evening, around 7.30pm. It tasted and looked fine...just like always.

But, since around 11pm I've been having diarrhoea, so far I've been 4 times and it's completely watery (sorry!). I was feeling a bit nauseous (but not been sick) and my tummy is gurgling away but otherwise I feel ok.
Been drinking water as got pretty thirsty.
The diarrhoea seems to have stopped now and I'm just about to go back to bed.

I don't have access to any midwife numbers (not been given any) so I think I'll call the GP surgery in the morning, just to be on the safe side.

I'm thinking it's either the eggs or the metformin I'm on...as my dose has been upped from today.

Was wondering if anyone else has had this and if it'll affect baby at all? Baby has been moving around lots throughout.

Hey Pixelle,

I'm on metformin too my Dr wouldn't up my dose (insulin now) As it does give you diarrhea.. Hope this helps..

Thank you!

I've just read the info sheet for the Metformin and it does say it can cause diarrhoea and nausea. Consultant didn't mention that!!

Will definitely be phoning GP in the morning :)

Hope you feel better this morning.

Food poisoning wouldnt harm your baby as long as its not one of the dangerous bacterias. I had norovirus early in pregnancy and all was fine. Food poisoning usually comes with yellow diarrhoea:wacko:

Thank you.

After only an hours sleep I feel slightly better already. Only had one toilet trip so far, and the consistency is better than it was....eurgh, I feel disgusting talking about it! Looks like it's probably food poisoning based on colour and the fact I feel ill even thinking about food!

Been drinking plenty of water as don't want to get dehydrated.

Will phone GP at 9am when they open.
:flower:
