I have been tryin different ways to bring labour on.
I know that it wont work unless your body is pretty much ready.
Like say I was going to go into labour 2morro evening and I done one of these things this morning then it can bring it on say today instead of 2morro.
But if im not goin to go into labour for another week what ever i do now wont work.

I also think that it makes my day go by quicker. For some reason as soon as I hit 37 weeks the days feel like YEARS! and If im tryin a different thing every day it does go a BIT shorter lol

I have searched the internet for ideas and come across alot of AGAINST people's comments.

Was wondering who here is for it who is against it?

My List ....

45 min none stop walk : NOTHING
Spicy curry: NOTHING
Labour Cookies : Inconclusive (didnt turn out nice enuff to eat)
Sex: Was only last night so not nothing but not something waiting bit longer.

I think you'll find a real mix of opinions on here in response to this thread!

Personally I think babies should be left alone to come out when they are good and ready (unless there is a medical need for intervention, of course).

Laura x

Is it the baby who decides or your body?

I'm a bit of both!
I'm going to leave in until due date then I think I'll try a whole bunch of stuff! As you say anything to pass the time!

Whats Labour Cookies?? I feel for you as we really build ourselves that 37 weeks becomes this magic like number for the potential for something to happen. I just know Im going to be the same as you x

Its a medical phenomenon as to how labour actually starts, they dont know if its a chemical released by the baby or the mother or what. Im desperate to meet my little girl but I went 10 days over with Luke and I just cant see anything happening before my due date this time... it wont stop me hoping though x

After going overdue with my first and having a horrible induction I will do anything for that not to happen again so am willing to try anything (apart from castor oil/dangerous things).
Once I got to 37 weeks I started with EPO and :sex:, pineapple, papaya, spicy curry etc.

i would be for it but i'm against at the moment as he is breech and i need to try my ECV first lol x

I'm all for doing things to help an easy labour or to induce labour itself, but I know that really there is nothing we can do (apart from a medical induction!) to bring on labour!! We just have to wait til our bodies/babies are good & ready! But I agree with you Lexi, it's fun to do and makes the time go faster just by giving you something to do and keep u preoccupied!! Only 5% of babies come on their due dates anyway so really u just gotta not think about that date because chances are it's wrong, possibly way off even!! By my LMP my due date is 27th Sept, and I was absolutely gutted at my 12wk scan when they put me bk 2wks :( but all along the pregnancy baby has measured big but I am still adamant she'll come ealier than 9th Oct! Fingers crossed! x
