Do you find the festive period hard to take?
I just feel sometimes that we will never have a child to share xmas with and it makes me feel sad that last xmas we discovered i was pregnant and we were so overjoyed as newly weds picturing this xmas with our child and now just a yr on i am infertile due to losing both tubes and we have a mammoth task ahead of us trying to get pregnant again... i was in the shops today and felt quite sad that our lives have been changed forever this yr and i am jealous of my friends who are buying xmas gifts for their children and it hurts :-(
My way of coping is to sign up for lots of overtime at work and to get legless over xmas in the hope that next xmas i wnt be able to drink... How does everyone else cope?

xxx

I am just about getting myself through it with thinking il be pregnant next xmas... i pray so. I have spent my twenties childless but dnt want to spend my thirties the same way xxx

Iv been like that myself this year, my cousin has her little boy with her for his 1st xmas then he'll soon be 1 on new years day she wasnt even trying to get pregnant so was a bit of a kick in the chops! and my friend had her little girl 3 weeks ago and i just sit and think whens it gonna be my turn!.

Wish you all the luck in the world hun.x x x

I still get in the spirit - but every now and then there are moments that hit me.

Dh and I were just at the grocery store and they had those candy story books and I said to Dh "we should get some for a stocking stuffer" followed by him saying "for who?"

Heart sink - I have no little one to shop for.

Hi AQ, we were in March Mummies together(albeit briefly) and lost our Beanies around the same time. I completely understand where you're coming from. This will be my third Christmas praying and hoping that next year will be the one we'll get to celebrate with our little miracle..it's so tough. My referral for IVF has been made so will have my first consultation in January...praying that we'll both have something HUGE to celebrate Christmas 2011!!

I'm sick of Xmas now anyway! Feel like it's been goin on forever.... First sign of Xmas was July or summat ha!
But yeah I really really wish I had a little baby to buy for. But if IVF works in jan I'll be givin birth this time next year so that's keepin me goin for the time being. Xx

The holiday's are definitley a difficult time specially cause I don't live close to family, but I have faith that it will happen. Yes it's sad that we aren't able to buy our own child a gift but something we do is buy a gift for children in need that definitley makes me feel better about the holiday's!!!! Knowing that you are helping others!!!!

Happy Holiday's

What a wonderful idea to buy for children I need.
I am so tempted to buy some little booties as inspiration for stayin positive durin my ICSI.

I have a little pair of booties saying 'i love mummy' on them and one day my baby will be wearing them god willing:cloud9:

Fitzy- i remember u in march mummies and im sad we arent still there but i pray 2011 brings us the joy we crave. I pray that for us all xxx

Yeah it is hard for me too. 2 Christmas' ago my dh bought an ornament that said my 1st Christmas, I never thought that we still would not be able to put it on the tree. I didn't see it in the box this year so I'm assuming he took it out before I found it so that I wouldn't be sad.

If we werent saving for IVF this year I told my DH I would have just loved to go away for the holidays seems like this time of year is always hard not having a little one to celebrate with. Hopefully next year will be much happier for us all.
