For those of you breastfeeding - how long are you planning on doing it for?

I was thinking about 7/8 months, but I am not sure. What about you?

Had planned for 6 months, now thinking a year or until Poppy decides to stop! xx

I don't know. I hate the idea of stopping but I have never found BF particularly easy as Poppy is very windy and she gets very frustrated and cries a lot with it. At the moment, I am working on getting her to take a bottle as I want to go back to uni before I go back to work just to ease us both in gradually.

But I can't get my head around giving her formula either. I just think, if the milk is there we may as well make good use of it.

Oh, I just don't know. I'll have to see how we get on when weaning her and take it from there I suppose.

It's a toughie!

I really have no idea. I guess it all depends on when I go back to work - but haven't worked that one out yet!!

I originally thought a year, but now I reckon maybe up till 2 for a night feed...cant imagine stopping! :)

I fed my first till 9 months, and it just came to a natural end. I was thinking of doing the same with Ben (now 8 months), but he really doesn't like formula. I'm also thinking it might be worth carrying on till after the end of the winter to keep away those nasty colds!!!

I'll re evaluate the situation once Sammy gets some teeth..lol

I think we will be nursing for quite a while. brennan is just not interested in solids at this point. plus I love nursing him.

I'm thinking about 6 months but that's not for definite. I'll see how I feel closer to the time and whether Jay takes to formula and solids :)

xx

Around a year hopefully, but I don't mind i it's longer. I don't know how it will work out with going back to work and Army reserves training, but we'll see.

I would like to go to 12 months and let him naturally stop when he wants to but thats not set in stone, i will carry on for as long as he wants it i think

I'd also like to breastfeed for about a year - if she wants we'll do it for shorter or longer though.

I was planning on 6 months but when the time came I didnt want to stop as I quite enjoy it. Now I dont know how long...Probably when I introduce cow's milk to him when he is one year old.

If we can until she's 2, and the same with no 2, if not then when she wants to.

At the moment maybe the recommended 6 months as I am keen to get back into wired bras asap and also to see if there's any chance of going back down from these G cups! Selfish I know but everything is given to the baby I don't think it's unreasonable to get some body back at some point! But then I might get there and find I want to continue...

We did exclusively until 6mo, then started solids, though he didn't eat them until 9mo, he still nursed alot up until 13-14mo...now at almost 16mo he only nurses at night and in the morning, maybe one other timeduring the day...we will continue until he self weans

I would like to make it to 6 months or even a year but worried about keeping up with her at this point...
