Do you bath every night? Just curious to know!! I'm going to try and get a routine going in the next few days/weeks but I'm a bit dubious about bathing every day?!

I bath every night, but I only use soap on her bum/vagina, hands, and feet (now that she likes sucking on her toes). I only wash her hair and soap the rest of her body maybe once a week or less. After her bath she gets a massage with homemade lavendar lotion.

Yes, we bath every night. DD loves her baths, and she's really began to associate that bath and bottle means bedtime - as soon as her sleeping bag goes on, she's out for the count lol

Yes every night from the day they come home. Both kids are water babies and I just say bath time to DS2 and he takes off....its so cute.

Thankyou ladies 😃 I didn't know if it was bad for there skin or not, but I want to get in some kind of routine.

We started when she was a couple months old and we still do! She gets a tub every night, but not soap every night. We do soap every other. She has bad eczema and having a bath every night is actually great for her skin! It's really helped her eczema a lot! We used to do massages after too, but she's too mobile now and isn't really interested. We still try though.

Once we had a routine for bedtime, yes, we did it every night, bath, massage, book, feed and then bed, but we didn't have a bedtime routine until she was 4 months. Before that, we did baths about every 3 days to start, then maybe every other day, and she went to sleep in the wrap with one of us until we went to bed ourselves. When we transitioned to her sleeping on her own in the evenings, we developed a routine and we did it every day, and so yes, then she had a bath every day. I probably wouldn't necessarily do that with a baby under about 8 weeks (bathing), but you can have a bedtime routine if you do want to start that, that doesn't necessarily include bathing to start. It wasn't important to us early on and it was easier to keep her sleeping with us than to try to force a routine when there wasn't one though. And we did want to start a bath/bed routine eventually, but it's not great for their skin to be bathed regularly when they're first born.

We don't every night just yet, I'm worried it'd dry her skin out, and her skin is already a bit dry as it is. We probably will soon though as her brother has one every night x

We did from about 6-7 months. We only used water though, now he's older we do bubbles a couple of times a week. DS has eczema so we don't use soap we use epaderm to wash and his skin isn't dry now except his face.

I only bath every night on hot days and if we go out during the day. If we are home and its not hot then i dont bother.

On some days i would only use water (not soap) bath, this is when i bath her on my own as i still need my OH help when i wash her hair and with rinsing too. And we wash her hair probably 2-3 times a week only with the dentinox shampoo. She has a very mild cradle cap.

I did this routine with my DS1 and bathed every night, however I can't for the life of me remember how old he was when we started it- maybe 3-4 months.

My DS2 is only getting bathed 2 x week but will probably try move him into some sort of routine in the next month or so...

Yes every night! She loves it and it really calms her down. I have skipped it a couple times and it always ended horribly. We started very early, right out of the newborn stage.

Yes, every night since about 6 weeks. First he gets the boob so he's not ravenous, then bath. He gets his bottle in the nursery and we already turn on his night music and night light, he eats and goes to bed without a single peep from him.

I also don't use soap on his hair every day but I do on the rest of his body because he gets quite nasty with the spilled milk in his nooks in the neck etc., plus he just started sucking on his hands a lot and I want them clean.

During the day he is in his cot in the living room so he strongly associates his bed with night sleep. I had workers in my living room installing a new aircon yesterday in the morning and naturally put him in his room in the bed. Came to check on him 30 min later and found him completely awake and totally baffled as to why I'm expecting him to sleep if he only just woke up :haha: He didn't mind being in bed, just didn't understand what he was supposed to be doing :haha:

We did with DS1 then came unstuck when we were away and only had a shower not a bath, he totally refused to go to bed without a bath!!

With DS2 he baths every 2/3 days unless he's particularly filthy, his bedtime routine is very short - milk, cuddles, bed! I'll probably introduce a story when he's more interested

I learn with DS1 to keep it easy and transferable

This happened to us too, so our DD had her bath in a kitchen sink for 10 days while we were away! Don't know what we would have done if she were bigger and wouldn't fit in the sink!

I bath W every night because she absolutely loves her bath. She splashes so hard that she knackers herself out  we then have a bit of time rubbing in her cream/tickling her/talking to her, she has snuggles with nanny once she's in her jammies whilst I'm making her bottle and picking out a book, bottle and down for the night :)
