Hi there,

My son is my first child and he is 18 months old, at the moment he only has a bottle at bedtime and one in the morning.
I've been getting increasing concerned that maybe he should be having less formula and maybe not be on a bottle anymore it should all be beaker's.
He has beaker's during the day with water to drink, but worried that i should of cut out bottles already and i'm damaging his teeth.

Please give me some advice
Thankyou in advance xx

I don't know about the bottle issue I'm afraid, as we are having varying amounts of success getting my (15 month old) to take a cup. She will drink during the day out of a cup with a straw, or a doidy, it's just that bedtime bottle! We had some success with a Nuby cup that has a soft silicon spout, and it's sort of "lip touch" or something like that so she doesn't have to suck on it.

In terms of being on formula, it's really up to you. You *can* put them onto cow's milk at 1 year, but you don't have to. In fact there are potentially new guidelines in the pipeline to suggest that children should stay on formula till they are 2.
