So over powdering formula can make baby sicky so whats with this!

1 scoop to every ounce on all formula!

Cow & gate each scoop is 5.1g

Hipp each scoop is 4.5g

OK I don't get why I'd have thought all scoops were equal measures with all formulas BUT it got to me because the HIPP spoon is massive yet each scoop is surposingly less than cow & gate well erm its not in fact theres more in 1 scoop of HIPP than there is in 1 scoop of cow & gate!

Surely his can't be good?!

I'm baffled by this!

Hmm possible each individual company has different guidelines per scoop- if that makes sense?? We already know that there slightly different because some babies don't like different one's x

But the measurements shouldn't be incorrect! 4.5g is 4.5g ...5.1g is 5.1g what is suppose to be 4.5g spoon holds more than the 5.1g spoon does!

^ does that make sense LOL

Ok i'm lost, maybe someone else will offer a insight!! Lol x

Yea i do but i'm now just as puzzled as you!!
*Off to google!!*

Oh cool lol

I'm tempted to ask HIPP since its them with the whooping big spoons lol!

Yes, it is true that scoop sizes vary in the powdered infant formulas. Infant formula powders vary significantly in the particle size and density of the powder. Thus each powdered infant formula has a scoop that is of different size inside the can
.

Thats one bit that i got, makes sense x

Hey you should of seen the rest of the article,it was one of those medical essay's/assignments (whateva you wanna call them)
I'm the one with the headache!!lol
So bad i'm off to bed!! Not really Alan Carr is calling! xx

Maybe it depends on what it is they put in the formulas if that makes sense?
The hipp might have less of something in the mix so you would need a little more?

ive probably made no sense lol

Its not done in oz's anymore. its per 30ml-1 scoop and i guess diff powders need diff amounts to that 30ml?
30ml is just over an oz fractionally i think

I think it boils down to different "densities" or "concentrations" of the recipe, that manufacturers use. Seems llike from the first article, there was an expected range of possible ok measurements from each manufacturers measurement.

Not sure if that's quite what you were looking for.

i'm with you here wobbles...that HiPP scoop is huuuuuuge! I'm amazed that there is less in each scoop than cow & gate cos i can't fit 5 scoops of HiPP in my powder dispenser but can easily fit 5 scoops of aptamil or C&G in there? How bizarre!!
