Hi ladies,

Quick question. If your baby was frank breech at term, how were and are their legs now?

Did baby hold his or her legs unusually for a while as they had in the womb? If so, how long before it settled? Did you have to use and special supports?

We're there any lasting issues to be investigated and how did you find the leg position to affect nappy use etc? Would you have been able to wear baby in a wrap still?

Our third baby is in this position and they don't feel confident she will now move herself, section etc is all booked and just trying to prepare and get my head round what to expect really

My LO was breech (basically didn't move from 28 weeks :haha:) We decided against ECV as we felt that if he was happy where he was, we didn't want to cause any distress. I ended up having an emergency c-section as my labour started 4 days before the section was booked. My LO was absolutely fine, no issues with his legs being in a funny position or anything. We took him for a hip scan a few weeks after he was born but he was fine, so he had no medical intervention or anything :D

I can't believe how close you are to bubba no3 arriving, good luck with it all :hugs:

xx

Erin was in a frank breech position from about 25 weeks and had no room to move!
At first when she was undressed her legs would try to go back up to be around her ears but it only last for a couple of weeks or so. She was x-rayed at about 4 months to check her hips because they noticed uneven leg creases but I think she should've been referred to the consultant anyway due to her position in utero and also her delivery, it was just missed which is the problem with giving birth in a different country!
I wore her from pretty early on without any issues.
Good luck with everything :D

My baby wasn't born breech she turned by 35 weeks but she needed a hip scan with being breech and that showed she had mild hip dysplasia so she had to go in a pavlik harness for 9 weeks it was an inconvenience because I couldn't bath her, she was a bit unsettled during the night because it was a bit uncomfortable but that's about it, wasn't anything major and painful for her or anything, hopefully your lo has perfect hips and won't need the harness x

Sorry for the not very positive reply lol but I wish someone told me about the possibility I'd never even heard of hip dysplasia so you can imagine my shock/horror when my baby was being put into the harness x

My DD1 was born frank breech and from the looks of things she had been that way from 28 weeks, when they first started noting presentation, nobody just spotted it until she arrived bum first a day before her EDD.

She was sucking her toes when they handed her to me and had slightly froggied legs for the first few days, but otherwise she's been completely fine and has had no problems whatsoever. I wore her in a carrier a lot too.

I had the ECV at 37 weeks - went perfectly and she stayed in proper positioning til she was born at almost 42 weeks xx

My DD1 was frank breech (found out 12 hours into labour). Her little legs were splayed like a froggy for a while. Her hip did pop out when she was delivered but was popped straight back in with no issue. A further scan at 8 weeks showed perfect hips. She's been perfectly fine :) very bendy though! Probably not related but it is amusing :)

My OH's nephew was frank breech and his legs would spring up so his feet were beside his head when he wasn't swaddled. His hips were fine.

My baby was breech up until 30 weeks when he decided to flip and break my waters in the process lol, he stayed in til 36 weeks when they induced me...but he still had a few tell tale signs of being breech, stayed curled up for around 8 weeks, he also had a clicky hip which they said was from bein breech, just thought I'd give u an example even tho it wasn't at term xx
