Does anyone have experience giving things away on free cycle? I have a computer and a few good baby things that I don't need, I would like it to go to a good home that need it rather than someone that's gonna try and sell it or something but I know I couldn't pick and choose who it went to.
Do you think free cycle is used as it should be or is it taken advantage of?
Also do you get people to collect or is it safer to drop it off?

I use it to give things away all the time. High value item you may get a lot of sob stories, so it's best to wait a certain amount of time before you offer.

In the listing say something like "I will wait 24hrs before I offer so everyone gets a chance" or something similar, as you get the people who sell on pretty much spend all day on there so can ask for things as they come up.


I get people to collect, I use freecycle as a way of getting rid of what I consider my rubbish. So I wouldn't want to waste time dropping it off for them haha, but you can give them the option of delivery. Or leave it outside, I do that sometimes.
