Fridge freezer advice...

My OH and I had our fridge freezer delivered this afternoon, I plugged it in about 3 hours ago, just wondering how long should I wait to put food in it? I'm starving the internet is full of conflicting advice.... so thought i'd ask you girlies

I always thought that it should stand 24hrs before switching on to allow the gas to settle. Then you can switch on and use when it's to temperature.
I don't know if new fridges or freezers come with the same instructions.

We were also told the same as Raspberry, it's something to do with the gases inside that can get unsettled in transit

It makes no odds now anyway, its came scratched (it's black) and the drawers don't align, so we're having to send it back for a replacement

You should have gotten a manual, have a look so when they deliver the replacement you can plan ahead.
