Friends and family with unusual names

Hi there I thought I wod start this as an ideas thread do you have any family or friends or family or even aquantances with unusual names?

My mum had a school friend called lesbia. She changed it by deed poll

My brother's name is Rouven which i think sounds and looks nicer than Reuben.(But maybe i'm a bit biased!)

They're not massively unusual but I have friends called April, Yolande, Yazmin, Necia.... think they're the most unusual (as in I don't know anyone else called them!).

Oh, one of my middle names is Rhoda which people seem to think is unusual.

My sister in law's middle name and possible name for their future baby girl is Lavinia

I know of children with the names McCartney (girl), Huxley, Rothko, Dymond, Brock...


Sure there will be some of these which wouldn't be classed as unusual by some but they are in this area (all of those people mentioned are English).

We have an Oak & Red which I think are pretty unusual! On OH's side there's an Elvie, which I think is abosolutely gorgeous! Little bit different from the popular Evie! xx

Elvie is a lovely name, and to make it a possible boys name if people like it but are expecting a boy they could change it slightly to Elvin which is alightly different from Alvin so you wouldnt get the chipmunks joke thrown at them lol. i know someone who at school used to always be asked wheres simon and theodore?! xx

I dont think Reuben is that unusual is it? I know a couple of them, and its been mentioned 4 or 5 times on this thread .
I used to work with someone called Candida (as in the stuff that causes thrush!!!)
