Apologies if this post is a bit jumbled.

I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant with my first baby (a little girl). Up until a couple of weeks ago it's been a wonderful pregnancy with no complications at all.

At my 34 week midwife appointment, my fundal height was apparently two weeks ahead of where it should be (I'm convinced my midwife did the measurement wrong, as she is always in a massive rush and the tape measure was ridiculously loose). She told me she was worried about my baby's growth (she actually said "Looks like you might be having a 13 pounder!") and booked me a growth scan for two days later.

I went for the growth scan and it turns out my baby isn't measuring big at all. She's on track to be a perfectly average 7 to 8lb.

However, the u/s technician noticed a possible horizontal ridge across my baby's forehead. The term "frontal bossing" was mentioned and I was referred to a consultant. The u/s technician took a series of pictures of my baby's head (front on and profile) for the consultant to look at. Nobody would tell me what it could mean, only that I'd receive a call from the hospital to let me know what was going on.

I didn't receive a call (which I'm not impressed about), and after a lot of worrying I eventually called them last Thursday (6 days after my growth scan). I was told that the consultant needs to see me and I have another ultrasound on Tuesday morning, but nobody would tell me anything more.

I know that googling these things is the worst possible thing to do, but I couldn't resist and now I'm in a real mess. It seems that frontal bossing could be a symptom of a number of severe conditions.

I'm also worried after looking at my scan notes, as my baby's femur length, which measured at around the 75th centile at my 20w scan, is now around the 15th centile.

Has anyone had any experience of this? Has anyone had a baby with frontal bossing who doesn't have a disability, or has anyone had frontal bossing suspected at an ultrasound but it turned out not to be the case?

The wait until Tuesday's scan is absolutely excruciating. I'm so worried that I haven't managed to sleep since Thursday.

Update for reassurance in case anyone else ever has a similar issue:

I had a detailed 4D scan today and it turns out my baby looks completely normal, just very grumpy! She has a prominent orbital ridge (I.e. Strong brow bone) like her daddy, and it just looked like frontal bossing on the last scan because she was frowning so much! :haha:

(I did, however, end up being taken down to the labour ward and nearly had an emergency c section because her heart rate was 250bpm! Thankfully it fell, so now I've got a load of monitoring appointments to take me up to whenever she's a born.)

In short, don't be a fool and google suspected issues like I did. :flower:
