gagging and heaving!!!

is this normal, my LO is only just being weaned and i have started him on purees and most often he will gag and heave, is this normal, will he keep doing this, we are nearly on our 3rd week and he still seems to gag, he doesnt like anything i have given apart from baby porridge.. please tell me this will get better...x

My little boy was born 2 days before you and we are having the same problem.

I spoke to the HV and he said to give very small amounts, which we are doing.
It has got better this last week though so there is hope. I am finding that we are having to take it extra slow, every tiny portion can take a long long time to eat !
I was feeding him lots of porridge and stewed friut which he loves, but the HV has warned me of feeding him too much of these sweeter foods in case of not wanting other foods. Our situation is definatley getting better each day x
