Well i am at my whits end i dont know what else to do. Carter was on enfamil ready made for 3 weeks at hospitals reccomendation than we switced to powder formula but he was still really gassy and farting all the time and struggling sometimes not pooping for 2 days or more but the poo looked normal. So now hes on gentle ease which is less lactose and suppose to be better for fussy gassy babys well nothing has changed its been about a week and hes still the same but now when he does poo its green like pea soup and comes out like water with seeds in it. I dont know what to do i dont want to switch his formula because i know its not good but im thinking i may have to. Its either a lactose alergy or just the type of protein in the formula what do yall think any suggestions is it ok to switch formula??

My LO is a month today and we are on our third type of formula. I think you must have different formulas as we were on SMA Gold (really didn't poo at all), then changed to Cow and Gate (some poo but not a lot) then finally we moved to Cow and Gate comfort milk which has less lactose. This was all on the advice of the HV. My LO hasn't been that different with her feeds due to the change. She loves the comfort milk and gobbles it down but there has been no real increase in the amount of poo. HV said it was ok - I'm not so sure but will wait and see.

Not sure on the switching formula part, but Bryson was on Enfamil Premium from day one and had gas and fussiness problems really bad. His poo never changed though, so not sure on that part either. We changed his formula to Enfamil Gentlease when he was 2 weeks old and it has seemed to help. But it took longer to make a difference than it said it would. It has been 2 weeks since we changed and it is just now working.

Ya here in canada we do have different formulas i feel so bad for him he is only happy right after he finally poos and than i have my content quiet baby back i have looked up a few thing on the good start so im going to switch and see how the whey protein works for him thanx girls

Put him on Enfamil Lactose Free.

Renah had the same issue, she filled up her change table on the play yard with green runny poop one day when she was a week old. She was lactose intolerant when she was born.

Also, public health in Canada reccommends not giving powdered formula until 2 months old due to digestive issues and the fact that they can't sterilize the cans

When i was in the hospital they said to keep him on Ready made for 4 weeks and my public health nurse that called said that was fine i did 3 than i made the switch as the ready made was costing 50 dollars for 28 cans and not lasting much longer than a week. hes doing much better now that i have switched to the nestle good start his poo is not runny or super green anymore and hes less gassy and fussy
