This is my first post here in the second trimester :happydance:

I have a scan scheduled for next week, I'll be 15+5 and was told I will most likely be able to see the gender and was wondering if anyone has had success this early?! And how definitive was it? I know it depends on positioning, but I'm not too worried about that, earlier scans all show baby happily dancing and cooperating with the techs lol

With my first I was told at 17 weeks that he was a boy, he is. Second I was told at 12 weeks he was a boy, he is. Third I was told at 15 weeks 6 days that she was a girl and it was confirmed at my 20 week ultrasound and again at my 23 week I would say the chances are pretty good and probably pretty accurate as long as you have an experienced tech and baby cooperates.

I think as long as the tech knows that they're doing, it will be accurate. I have a gender scan next week at 16+2. Good luck!

As long as baby is in the right position then they should be able to tell. When I went at 15 plus 3 she told me beforehand that it would all depend and that sometimes she could tell easily at 14 weeks yet with others couldn't tell at 16 weeks plus. Any good sonographer/tech won't tell you unless they're pretty sure :)

We had a gender scan at 15 weeks and it was obvious hes a he. Had my anatomy scan at 23 weeks and he is still most definitely a he!

Had a scan last Tuesday at 14+3 and tech asked whether we want to know - we don't - but it would have been possible to find out. So I'd say there is a good chance it's accurate when you go! x

I had my gender scan at 15+5 was told girl. Confirmed girl again at 20 week scan x

Thanks ladies! We are definitely hoping that baby gives us a good look!
I hear that having a sugary drink or something beforehand might help wake baby up for the ultrasound, might try that just in case it's true!!!

I had a 16 week scan and saw that it was a girl. The technician didn't say anything and I didn't ask but recognised the 3 lines from seeing scan pics on here. Confirmed at 20 weeks and at birth! Good luck.

With my first found out he was a boy at 15 weeks exactly and this time found out it was a girl at 14 weeks. My sister is a sono tech so she took her time to do it.

Ive just had my gender scan and the baby was a bit awkward and it took a lot of jiggling around and me having to go and get a fizzy drink and come back to confirm it was definately a girl and i was 16+4 so as long as the baby cooperates they should see, the cord was between her legs as well which didnt help!

I had my gender scan with this one at 15+6 and they said she's a girl. I have my 20 week scan next week to hopefully confirm. :)

Baby was super cooperative!!!! Got to see her girl parts on full display hahahah thank you everyone for the responses!

We found out at 15+5 it's a boy. I could clearly see the parts. It was later confirmed at my anatomy scan. That early on it mostly depends on if the baby cooperates

We found out at 15+6 :) should be able to tell, aslong as baby cooperates! Xx

my cousin had a scan 15+4 and she was told a boy, at her 20 week scan she was told it was a girl and it was a girl. Strange!

I think usually they are accurate though :)

I found out at 15+4 this time that im having another little boy

I had an early gender scan at 15w2d and it was obvious she was a girl. Just had my anatomy ultrasound a few days ago at 20w5d and she is still a little miss!! :cloud9:
