Gender swaying/shettles method?

Hi Mommas! I'm wondering if any of you tried to gender sway...

What did you do?

Did it work?

Hubs & I are talking baby #2 next year and I'm hoping for a girl next time around (although I would be happy with two boys) :happydance:

Personally, last time we DTD leading up to O and on the day of O (my ovulation is painful so I know exactly when it happens), and we had a boy.
 
We didn't tryyyy to sway, but I knew the way it'd fallen would favour a girl according to the shettles method (DTD 3 days before ov), so I deliberately didn't dtd for a few days while waiting to ov, as I really wanted my first to be a girl, and I got my little girly!

Saying that though I know someone who DTD on the day of ov only and had a girl too, so there are definitely no guarantees!

Look up alkaline diets as well. I've never done it but I've read that it makes a difference.
 
We dtd up until and the day of and still got pregnant with a girl. With my son, I have no idea since he was not exactly planned, lol.
 
Thanks ladies! By the time we start trying, our son will probably have an opinion on what sibling he would prefer so we'll let him weigh in :) if he wants a brother, we may just leave things up to fate instead of trying one way or another. Problem is I know exactly when i O so choosing to abstain from sex that day will be something I'm completely aware of...
 
I didn't try the Shettles "method" either time, but going by the way it claims to work and my own timings, my boy should have been a girl and my girl should have been a boy! :haha:
 
didnt work for me. we tried for a girl this time and got another boy xx
 
We DTD only on ov day (I was on clomid with a horrible cold) and got my ds.
I haven't got a clue but we only dtd on day 23 (of a usual 31 day cycle) so must have just caught my ov day again and got our dd.
 
We DTD on the day of O and had a little girl. :)
 
We were swaying pink. We dtd every day leading up to O but avoided it on O day. I also did a high calcium diet (very different to my usual diet) as well as a few other dietary modifications. We got our girl 😄
 
With my girl I had sex 4 days before O
I would like another girl this time and will try the same but am aware it could take a while to conceive this way which doesn't bother me as I'm in no rush

I do eat low carb and lift heavy weights which I *believe* sways boy (correct me if I'm wrong) but I love the way I eat and don't want to change it!
Would just love a sister for my toddler

I never ate low carb, but I was a heavy lifter prior to conceiving last summer and I had a girl. :)
 
I conceived my girl while eating a meaty paleo diet and biking 10 miles a day! Apparently LOTS of cardio is supposed to sway girl. We DTD 2 days before O.

I conceived my boy while eating a high fat raw vegan diet, and sitting on my ass. DTD on O day.

During my pregnancy with my daughter I couldn't stomach meat at all and worry about that with next pregnancy as I really want to stay low carb, with meat being a huge part of the plan.

I guess I don't want to try and do a really strict sway incase I do get a boy, just have sex 4-5 days before O and hope that works.

Bdb84 - did you go back to lifting or continue lifting during pregnancy?

I kept the same workout regimen up until my second trimester, but then I started experiencing heavy bleeding and was put on bedrest. Once I got cleared to resume lifting, it started up again, so I was told not to do any lifting that puts pressure on the pelvis- so no more squats or deadlifts :( I did continue lifting upper body, though, and found other exercises to keep my legs in shape.
