gestational diabetes and labour stories please

The is baby number 4 but the only pregnancy where I have had GD.

I want as natural a labour as possible. I did want a labourwater birth but don't think trays possible now.

Can anyone share their labour/delivery stories please? I'm feeling rather disheartened by the whole situation.

oo im watching too hun.

I have GD and before i found out had strongly wanted a VBAC.. but now it depends on what kind of drips etc im going to have to be hooked upto x

I had diet controlled gd and apart from them pricking my finger to check my blood sugar levels a couple of times, my labour was pretty much the same as my first (non gd) labour. Have they spoken to you about being induced? I don't think they like to leave you any later than your due date and possibly even earlier. I'm not sure if you'd be able to have a water birth if you were to be induced?

My SIL refused induction despite GD. There is a slight increase of risk to the baby in going overdue when GD isn't controled but if your GD is well controled it shouldn't increase your risk.
