Hi, I had a private sexing scan at the weekend and they took the baby's measurements. Her HC is 50th centile and FL is 60th but her abdominal circumference is 95th centile. I finally got to speak to a midwife today who said yes this is a concern and the first thing they'll look for is gestational diabetes.
So I have a glucose test booked in a week and a half, blood tests take over a week to come back round here and she said then I'll need to wait for a hospital appointment to get a test done over a course of a few hours before they'll confirm or rule out diabetes before they'll look at what else it could be.
I am panicing because this seems like an awfully long time to wait and in the mean time I'm not doing anything to help if it is diabetes.
Could you share any advice you've been given about how to control this with diet, what to eat, what not to eat and any changes I should make immediatley.
All help is very greatfully recieved as am getting myself in a bit of a state about this now.:nope:
Thank you ladies.

Try to avoid anything sugary including drinks, fruit juice, cola etc and also watch your intake of carbs, particularly refined carbs such as white bread/flour - hope this helps. In the meantime can you see your GP, he/she may be able to give you a testing kit to keep an ete on your levels yourself.

Hope all goes well xx
