Getting discouraged...

I am 30 years old. My husband and I have not been using any protection for 11 months. I still haven't conceived. However, my cycles are extremely irregular. I get a period every month, but some cycles are 29 days and some last 38 days. I've recently started taking Vitex this last month and I have noticed a change in my hormone and moodiness level. However, something new happened this month; my sex drive increased (it was practically nonexistent for a while), and the last week I am HUNGRY all the time! I am eating huge portions, which I never do, and I finish eating and I am hungry minutes later. I have other symptoms: heartburn constantly, insomnia, my asthma acting up, fatigue, back ache, right flank pain, pressure low in my pelvis, nausea, gas, bloating. I've taken pregnancy tests the last two days, both negative. I am on cycle day 30, no period. I usually break out in facial acne pretty bad before my period, and this month I had two pimples, but they have cleared up already. I am just so sick of negative pregnancy tests, any suggestions?

At 12 months of no ttc success most women go to an RE. My suggestion would be to make an appointment now because sometimes there are wait lists for REs. If you get your BFP in the meantime then you can always cancel. Also, since you have irregular cycles anyway, it would be logical to go to your OBGYN and have a hormone panel done (if you have not already). It looks like the vitex is helping you, so keep it up for sure! I was taking to many HPTs and getting BFNs, it was so discouraging. I think that temping helped me feel in control of my situation because I was able to confirm to myself and my doc that I was not ovulating and had my charts as proof. She immediately decided to test me for PCOS and said I could start clomid at my next appointment, so I feel like we have a solid plan in place. Since I am not ovulating nor having a period I decided to take a break from OPKs and temping until I start my next cycle (with medical intervention). I take one HPT a week to make sure I am not pregnant but since I know that I am not ovulating I have realistic expectations.

There are many women on BnB with fertility issues and irregular cycles, leaning on others for support and offering support to others is very cathartic.

Vitex will change your cycle and hormones so watch out, if it is screwing with your estrogen and progesterone you will have all those symptoms and side effects.
I hope that this is your bfp but if not the best thing that you can do is start the process with a Dr and get some testing done to see if and when you are actually ovulating so you can time intercourse.

Are you charting yet? BBT charting can be VERY informative.
