Getting paranoid about pcos

Hello, I have been TTC since Jan 09 (I know not as long as any of you guys have) BUT up until the past 2 or 3 cycles my period has been wacky. I had to take the pill for a month (august) so that my period would come back and now its 10 days late again! I have been reading up on PCOS and I don't think I really have any of the symptoms because my period has always been normal up until now, even when I first started it at age 12 it was almost always 28day cycle give or take a few days. The only symptom I saw for PCOS is that woman with that tend to carry their weight in their waist, and I feel like a lot of mine is in my tummy area (again that could just be me..). I go to the gyno yearly and she has never said anything is wrong, what could it be? I am going crazy...

ps. I have also heard that some doctors say when your under 35, you dont need to worry about infertility until you have been TTC for 2 years, is that true? I have also heard 1 year...

Honestly, no one knows ur body like u do - if you feel like something might be wrong seek a second, third or even a fourth opinion. One of the bigger signs of PCOS is the whacky periods....

But it's best to seek medical advise.
Ask them for all the necessary pre conception checks and see what happens.

hi there if i were u i would go & get checked out.....even if you do have pcos it doesnt mean its the end of the world....i was diagnosed with it in june. We had beeen ttc since sept 08 & my cycles were always 31 days but i was a bit concerned as after sex i would spot a tiny bit of blood & then in may i had some irregular bleeding mid cycle...i had to have an internal scan which showed i have ploycysts. I do not have any of the other symptoms like excessive hair or weight problems. ( I have a bit of a tummy but think thats just down to all the bad things i eat...lol!! ) I have always felt a bit spottier than my friends but wouldnt say i have acne so it was a bit of a shock to learn i had polycysts. I had all my hormone bloodtests done which showed i am ovulating ok so the fertility specialist says not to worry. I am booked in for a HyCoSy next mon to check my fallopian tube if its blocked....fingers crossed 4 me

Oh & by the way you do only have to wait a year to see the fertility specialist but you can still have the hormone bloodtests & ur partners sperm tested by your doctor.....especially if you have irregular periods i would def say you want the 2-3 & 21 day bloods to rule that out
