i was just wondering how many of you got rid of animals when your child was born. (cats especially) i'm definately not gonna, i am just curious!! also, for those of you who kept your cats, how did you make it safe for your cat and your baby in your home? and was you kitty jealous??
No kept all mine. The cats didn't bother when Seren got here, only started getting annoyed when she was able to yank on their ears/tail but they didn't get funny. As for making it safe, I didn't really do anyhting, and just treated them as normal.
that's good cuz i've seen alot of people get rid of them simply because they don't have time for them or they are afraid that the kid would get hurt from the animals and i think it's crazy. my husband keep/breed snakes and has over 20 of them and he keep them well locked. he also has a burmese python that can get well over 10 feet long and could weight nearly to over 100 pounds. i am not even worry about this. he knows what he doing
seriously, my cat WAS my baby before that pink crying thing came along. lol I let her sniff the baby and taste her a few times. lol She never bothered the baby more than licking some milk off her legs :0) https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v310/Pumpkin_Blythe/zoo009-1.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v310/Pumpkin_Blythe/zoo010-1.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v310/Pumpkin_Blythe/zoo011.jpg

i kept my geckos and we got our cat when Rhys was 6 weeks old, hes fantastic and has never bothered with Rhys at all and just lets him pull his hair and stuff!!!

awesome terrie, what kind of geckos do you have? i have two leopards that i'm planning on breeding in a few months. prolly hold back one of the babies for my baby!! my husband breeds snakes and he is holding back a baby corn that was concieved around the same time as our baby. heres some pics! https://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/derekdehaas/Picture221.jpg https://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/derekdehaas/Picture.jpg https://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/derekdehaas/Picture222.jpg https://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/derekdehaas/Picture990.jpg https://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/derekdehaas/Picture991.jpg
brilliant pics I have 3 cats, and they're not going anywhere unless they get funny with the baby....but they won't lol. To be honest, I think they're more likely to be protective of the baby than anything.
hahaha! yeah i think i will keep dh. he'll probably be quite a help when im at my wits end and tired as hell!!! anyone else have dressed up kitty pics?
these are my leopard geckos. their names are Gordon and Jennie https://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t320/tezzy-wezzy/DSCN2126.jpg this one is Jennie as you can see she is the dainty pretty one https://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t320/tezzy-wezzy/DSCN2132.jpg this one is Gordon
I must admit I'm feeling pretty guilty that Arfur (see left) and Charlie (my chinchilla) aren't getting anywhere near the attention they're used to. It just doesn't seem fair on them. I'm hoping stuff settles down and I can still spend time with them.
