Hi all,

I'm following a low GI diet, lost 7lb in 3 weeks so far. Anyone else following this?

Hiya, it's the glycaemic index or glycaemic load. I can't go into the whle theory as it goes over my head a little but basically it's about how foods impact on your glucose/blood sugar levels. The lower on the index the less impact. It's low carb ish, well you don't eat any refined carbs.

I like it, it's very healthy, no weighing, counting of anything and it's a very natural diet. No processed foods, lots of water, veg etc.

Thanks I think I will look into it. Sounds like it may work for me,

It's really really healthy so it certainly won't hurt to try it. It's used a lot for diabetes, psos and a couple of other illnesses I can't think of now, so it can't be bad.

Yes, I did this in 2007 and shed ~25 lbs.
I agree - it is just healthy, wholesome, common-sense eating.
It still influences my food choices today.

Important question - has it stayed off? x

It did until I got pregnant! :)
I was still 15 lbs above my pre-preg weight when I got pregnant with my second.
I am now back to my pre-preg weight, but this time I had to go more hardcore and I did diet and exercise (P90X).
I MUCH prefer the GI Diet to the P90X diet.
And it's a good maintenance diet.
