Hi Skibode - we're in the same boat trying since Jan 09 too. It was a 7 month wait for the first appointment at GRI in June and now in the middle of the 5 month wait to have an HSG done (Nov). They did offer a lap quicker but I don't want to go under a general for it and no matter what the results are, lap or HSG, the waiting time for IUI (the first option) is still the same from your date of referral so not too much point in going through surgery when the waiting time will be just the same 
The woman doctor we saw was nice, told us that technically as it hasn't been 2 years, it could still happen naturally and to keep trying. That said, it's horrible waiting for things to start happening and I feel like I've wished my summer away - anyway, fingers crossed the wait will not be so long for you and the letter will be dropping on your doorstep soon
