Goddammit...why am I getting every freaking obscure symptom during this pregnancy?? I don't get it. Not only am I dealing with nausea 24/7 but it just seems like everything else is happening too! I mean, I am self-diagnosing here...like I did yesterday with my coccydynia of pregnancy but I posted a couple of weeks ago about a feeling of having something stuck in my throat and it hasn't gone away yet.
I finally pinned down a term for it: globus sensation. I found someone else in a blog talking about it: So for the past 9-10 days or so I have had the feeling of something stuck in my throat. I mentioned it to my mother yesterday and she, being Dr. Mom, said, "Um, I hate to tell you this, but you may have that for the whole pregnancy." Turns out this chick we know had globus sensation throughout her entire pregnancy. As soon as she delivered her baby, it was gone. Apparently, it's tied to the slow down of esophegeal function tied to pregnancy that causes increased heartburn and other similar discomforts.
Someone else on yet another forum: Has anyone had this with their pregnancy? globus sensation in the throat? I have it and its driving me CRAZY! I have a feeling (well it feels like something is there) in my throat stuck. I have no GERD, no real pain, just annoyance. Wanted to hear your story. thank you!
This is exactly what I'm feeling. Grrrrr...I was talking to my mom about my tailbone yesterday and she was like, "jees, I haven't heard of anyone having any of these crazy symptoms until you got pregnant." The madness of it all makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.
