glucose monitor showing mix result??

Hi!! well last night i had exactly the same meal i had the night before,anyway the night before my monitor read 6.9 and last night read 9.4:wacko:....now this is exactly the same meal,amount etc so i tested again 5.5? then again 7.9 then again 6.6 then again 10.2 to be honest i went through 8 strips testing:blush:all very different readings!......i was getting wound up as i needed a definate answer to put in diary!!!! ................. please tell me my monitor is buggered and not my blood is spilling out different sugar levels within seconds lol my head is buzzing shall i go to my local surgery for different monitor monday??? has anyone else had this problem?? thanks girls x
 
Yes I've had this too. On the same meal I've had a 2.8 and a 9.1! I don't know why there is such a variation. I haven't bothered to say anything to the diabetes clinic as I think I have read somewhere else that they aren't all that accurate anyway and other people have had the same problem.
 
I asked this as Ive had it too.

Basically if you have to squeeze around the prick site, the tissue fluid will cause the result to be a lot lower. If you need to squeeze do it from the base of the finger with the tip pointing downwards to encourage blood flow out.
