My eldest is having some tests ATM they think she may be partially death or have glue ear.
It's been a year since we first noticed her hearing was down but the past month she has gone from being a lovely outgoing girl who we always got complimented on too a shouty, mean child. She's getting worse by the day.
Nursery have also noticed a dramatic change in her.

After diagnosis of glue ear how long did it take for your child too get gromits (if they did) we're going to go private but have read online they like too wait a year.
This would then take us too next September and she'll be starting school. I really want this sorted before she starts school .. I'm getting so upset about the whole situation now, I just want my lovely girl back ..

My son didn't have gromits as his glue ear got better by itself. He had initial tests in the winter then they said they wanted to recheck him in the summer as it usually clears up in the summer. Which his did. If she's having problems and were just coming out of summer I would imagine it hasn't got better like they say it should. I had a terrible time getting his appointments as they had a huge waiting list but I just made a nuisance of myself (I even wrote to my MP) and they eventually got me one. I fully understand why you're upset I was too, it affected my sons speech.

At 20 months they wanted her too see a speech specialist but I said no.
It's been a year now but I only mentioned to hv/drs 2 months ago as we thought it may just be a phase.
She failed her first hearing test 3 weeks ago and has her next tests on Tuesday.
She has every symptom of glue ear apart from 1 but it is rapidly effecting her now at home and pre school.
I don't feel it's going to go away as it's been a year now since we first noticed hearing problems ..
I just feel so lost

Ds2 had his second lot of grommets recently. The first time we were told 6 nth waiting list so we went privately. But since moving the waiting list was only 12 weeks in our new area. It's worth ringing the hospital and speaking to the waiting list dept. to get a rough idea.
He changed over night after his first lot. Was incredible. Started walking, communicating, laughing. Was wonderful.
