Hi

Im going out after LO has gone to sleep about 8pm and then he doesn't feed again until the morning around 5 or 6am. I plan on having only 2 or 3 glasses of wine, so this will take approx 9 hours to leave my system right?

Will I need to pump and dump in the morning rather than feed him? I wonder this as I will have the same milk in my system overnight as he doesn't feed throughout that time

General rule, sober enough to drive, sober enough to breastfeed.

If I had a couple of glasses of wine and felt fine I'd feed. If I was feeling a little rough I'd just wait and feed later.

Alcohol doesn't stay in the milk. It leaves the milk at the same rate as the alcohol leaves your blood stream.

That's great, thanks. Although I haven't drank in a year so I doubt il be in a fit state after 1 glass! But good to know I can feed in the morning and will make up some bottles in case LO decides to wake! Thank you xxx:flower:

yep, what she said. just have bottles just in case, but I'm sure a few glasses of wine won't affect your morning milk, surely it will be out of your system by then. Have fun! Must say I'm a bit jealous!!!

Yes, if you feel fine your milk is fine. 2-3 glasses of wine would be gone in 2-3 hours for me. It would be fine by morning I'm sure!

Everything was fine, I had 2 glasses and like I thought I was pretty tipsy! But didn't need to feed until morning, although at 1am till 3am LO woke for playtime! All I wanted to do was sleep! Anyway thanks for all your advice xxx

The only problem with having some alcohol and nursing is it can affect your letdown. No big deal if LO is sleeping. :)
