GONAL f injections

So, the day is here I start my injections tonight.

Im just wondering how those of you have had done it have managed-I mean, I do shift work and I am going to have to take it with me at some point. I am doing them at 9pm. Has anyone else carted theirs around with them? I assume I just put everything in the bagthey gave me with the 2 ice packs. How long would that last out of the fridge?

I even said to DH, 'But I wanted to go out to the cinema and have a meal tomorrow night! (pouting)' DH rightly says, we'll just have to make sacrifices, you can't go worrying about that!

And I'm trying to have a BABY?! And I'm worried about not going out for one night lol

Do they really need to be in the fridge? Mine were to be kept under 25 c. I did end up doing some injection in work in the disabled toilet but that was ok.

Yes Ive been told they have to be in the fridge. I had to be home when they delivered them to put them in the fridge straight away and they were in ice packs. So did u just carry yours around with u oneday?

I was on fostimon similiar to gonal f, it wasn't delivered chilled but i did keep it in a chiller cabinet. It was actually the buserelin injections i did at work for down regging the fostimon was a pain as you had to mix it and i started on 3 powders so lots of drawing up. I hope it goes well for you x

Hey there

I'm also a shift worker and I did what you said... kept the injections in a cold back with ice packs, they seemed to stay cool for my whole shift.

I went out a couple of times and felt a bit weird leaving the concert to go and 'shoot up' in the toilets... just what diabetics do though.

LOL I know it does seem clandestine somehow. From what youall have said though, not gonna let it stop me going out, even if for only 2 weeks. I have a couple of big handbags, it can all go in there-sharps bin and all!!

A, I did them at 10pm to fit in with shifts. When I was on a night I did it a little earlier. I am not sure about keeping it out of the fridge as I remember getting strict instructions from delivery people to keep in firdge at all times. You could disguise it as a packed lunch and put in the fridge at work?

I've juggled my shifts - also going for 9pm after a nice relaxing bath!

I don't have to chill mine either - i'm on menopur and it just has to be kept below 25deg so no refridgeration issues for me.

Could you keep it in the fridge at work in a lunch box?xx

Taking it to work would be ok..but Ive just realised I could save my nights and do them once Im PUPO lol. I like finishing placements on nights...although I may do some bank work, in which case I could keep it in the fridge. Its going out somewhere else thats the issue..wanna do dinner and cinema tonight...these damned oinjections are so inconvenient!!! haha
