Good results of first trimester screen!

Got my results today, screen negative. Chance of downs is only 1:1,150. No need for amnio. Phew!

Congratulations, it's such a relief. It seems so long ago now that I got my results.

Angel - if you've been waiting 3 weeks I would say you're definatley low risk. I rang them after 8 days to check as they told me I would hear back within a week if I was high risk. The midwife said you generally hear back within 2-4 days if it comes back high. I'm 41 and got a result of 1:6300, they told me it's not true that age is such big factor.

I agree, should give them a call. I was speaking with my midwife's office on an unrelated matter on Monday, a day before the test results were due. I mentioned that the results were due soon and I was horrified to hear that they normally only call if the results are worrisome! Meanwhile here I am on pins and needles waiting, the whole family (both sets of grandparents) waiting on the results, etc.

I asked them to call me right away either way, and they did when the results came in. But if I hadn't asked they probably just would not have bothered calling. Maybe it's angry preggo hormones talking but how they can treat this stuff like it's trivial makes me furious!

WOW, those are great numbers. I lost my Ava in March , I am just now trying again and I am also 41. It gave me some hope to see your numbers.. All The Best
