Got my date for dating scan, terrified

Well I saw the MW last week and told her all about my history with the twins and miscarriages etc, she said she wouldnt refer me for an early scan because no point.

Anyway, i went to the local maternity university hospital and demanded a scan, there was noway i was waiting until 12 weeks, i was 5.5 weeks on the internal ultrasound and they saw a gestational sac and yolk sac but was too early for a HB,. I have to go back next Wednesday for a follow up scanning which im dreading.

I saw the MW again this morning (she has no idea i went for a scan) and they have referred me for my dating scan on 11 October.

So i have a scan next Wednesday, a week off then another official scan.

Im so scared when i go next week they wont be a heartbeat

Well they are right, before 6 weeks most people don't see the heartbeat. The fact that you saw the yolk is a good sign though. There really isn't much point scanning before 6 weeks so you would have been better to wait a few days. However I totally understand why you are anxious after so many losses.
As I say, seeing a sac and yolk was right on track for your dates, so I hope that when you have the next scan everything is still going well. I know it is terrifying but remember, the odds are in your favour now.

I thought i was further than 6 weeks going off my dates, as you can see by my ticker, but i have had my cycles completely messed up with the twins so was a lot earlier than i expected.

Im praying this is it for us, we have been through to much heartache x

Ah hun, I'm sending loads of hugs your way and my fingers and toes will be crossed for you. You're bound to be worried and i dont blame you, but try to take it easy for the health of your little one. xx
