We bought this travel cot for our impending little one
https://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-...Basinette-with-Napper-I-Love-My-Bear(0015148)

but since I'm wanting to use the bassinet feature for a few months I want to buy an actual mattress to make it more comfortable. The accessory list on the website suggests buying the Safe N Sound Trio Comfort Foam Travel Cot Mattress. But it says, fits into the base of the travel cot... surely it would fit the bassinet level as well though right? and what about the foam.. it sounds cheapy. Would a normal mattress not be better? and if so, where do I get said mattress?

Do any of you girls have this travel cot (or similar graco contour) and what have you put in it.

and after I figure out the mattress where do I get sheets that fit?!! So complicated! I'm going to go into the store in a couple of days and see if they can help.. but I'm not expecting that much.

Thanks in advance!!

I have a graco pack n play with infant insert and from what i remember they dont want u putting anything in it, as its not safe. at least anything that is not made specifically for it.

I agree I have the graco contour electra travel cot...think thats what its called and the instructions specify that you only use the mattress supplied for the bassinett as any other mattress is not safe to use xx

I have the same travel cot and have a travel cot mattress from mothercare, its not like a normal mattress more like a mattress topper its quite thin but she seems comfortable. I think It was about 20-30 on line.

If you couldnt use them mothercare wouldny sell them

Well that's definitely confusing. I know the Kiddicare website recommends buying an additional mattress for the travel cot if the baby is going to be sleeping in it... guess it would be smart for me to pull out the instructions eh?

What size sheets did you guys opt for? Just using a flat sheet and making sure it's really well tucked in?

we got a mattress to fit ours too and it is quite thin but Jacob seems comfy enough in there too. We just use normal cot sheets and tuck them in well :)

John Lewis sell fitted travel cot sheets.

We have the graco playards just like that here and they don't sell anything to put in them. Personally I wouldn't as someone else said it's not made by the same manufacturer it might not fit just right. If Graco themselves, not the store you bought it from's site, says you can use it but only at the bottom I would feel ok doing that. But the bassinet part only holds so much weight which is probalby why you can't use it in that setting

We bought one from mothercare at the weekend, it was £29.99.

It's not a 'solid' mattress so still folds up with the travel cot but it's a lot softer that the existing matress & with a sheet on & the whole thing on top of the normal matress it's pretty cosy.

the only travel cot matresses i have ever seen are for the bottom of the cot not the basinette part :(

I have also brought this travel cot to use downstairs for changing/napping use and as a playpen when older, and of course for when we stay out.

I had this design without the napper with George 6 yrs ago also and had it instead of a moses basket or crib at the bottom of my bed for the first 3 months.

The bassinet is designed for new babies and is suitable for a certain weight and i believe it to be comfortable based on the light weight of a new baby. You then remove the bassinet, and if i remember rightly, the mattress element then goes into the base of the playpen.

I brought cotton cot sheets from a local baby store.

If John Lewis do specific travel cot sheets thats where i will get them from this time.
