So I'm in love with this bath tub because of its shape and size and want to buy it soon to begin establishing a quick bath time routine for LO to get her settled  for sleepy time every night. I can TOTALLY see this working for so many fussy and colicky babies such as mine. I have a small bathtub and can see it working for us finally, as the ones we've tried are too bulky and with no openings. Plus LO isn't big on bath time and I can see her liking this one because it will allow her to feel secure and calm as the environment mimics the womb. But I don't like that baby stays submerged in his/her own dirty water for the remaining of bath time, unless I take her out and pour clean cups of water over her to finish the bath. Yesterday she had a terrible poop accident in the morning and I had to bathe her, can't see this tub working in a case such as that again lol. Are there any other bath tubs out there that you guys know about that come with a opening for dirty water to exit the tub???? Typical baby tubs involve a single area of water that collects all that dirt and grime for your baby to sit in, I can't believe this hasn't been thought of yet :dohh:. Please help me find one if so...THANK YOU!!!

Huh? Babies don't get that dirty so don't worry about them sitting in dirty water. My SIL had one of these and her baby hated it.

My LO has always bathed with my OH in the big tub. Now he's bigger my OH doesn't always get in the bath with hi but when he was a newborn one of us were always in the bath with him.

Also, if your LO hates the bath try making the water just a tiny bit warmer than recommended or putting a face cloth on her tummy that's been put in the warm water.

The only one I know of is called tummytub but it doesn't seem to allow water to exit at the bottom...

We had to bathe baby by herself because she had a major poop accident lol, it went all over her back. Your right, babies hardly get that dirty, but when you need to give them a very thorough bath, a self-cleaning bath tub is absolutely essential i think. When we bathed her in her everyday bathtub yesterday it was a mess. Even after we bathed her in there, DH had to carry her out and I had to pour cups of clean water to completely wash off any poop still on her. Pretty yucky and inconvenient.

:haha: gotcha ... those pooh in the baths will be few and far between don't worry! It's only happened to us twice.

right. i just wish it came with a little plug thing to drain the dirty water out lol.

Hmmm. Well I've bought two bath tubs so far and I haven't yet used the bigger one

frankly, because it's a pain in the rear end to kneel down on the bathroom floor everytime he gets a bath. I'm still using the Safety 1st complete bath that does have the drain at the same end that his head is resting:

I put it right next to the kitchen sink and actually place the edge over the sink so that the drain is over the sink as I bathe him. That way I run clean water in the sink as I'm bathing him and using the cup I rinse his hair (after washing) with clean water and I will drain out some water as I'm doing it in case it gets too high as I'm adding fresh water. I hope this makes sense. I still use the provided bath cradle so he still lays down as I'm washing his hair, etc. even though he can sit up just fine. I'm probably overdue for moving on but it still works and he doesn't complain.

Great idea about putting it next to the kitchen sink! Thank you :hugs:

So its a bucket?

I have that hammock thingie that you put in the regular bath. You don't need to fill it much. Presto, bathed baby.

When my DD has a poop explosion I use wet wipes. Newborn poop just wipes off. Your LO must have some industrial poops.

If I am being honest I think you did it an odd way. When my LO has a poo explosion we wipe of any excess, give him a hose down in the sink and then he goes in the bath. I wouldn't put him in the bath when still poopy.

We usually just use the plastic tub with handles that I use for laundry as a bath :D
The handles make it easy to move it/tip the water out and he's sat up to his chin in the water which he prefers.
