my son is 8 weeks for the last 2 weeks he's had green poo!
He's breastfed and happy in himself. Not feeding as much(he was feeding constantly) but figure that's
Because he's older and got the hang of feeding. I don't think it's a hind milk fore milk thing as he empties breasts well and he does the same poo after an expressed bottle too. I don't think I have a fast let down either. So not sure what it is?could he have an infection?i thought to begin with it might be the infacol so have cut that out and now have more wind and still green poo!when I say green it's like sewage!dark green water and he's does quite a few explosions a day slightly less than he did when on the infacol but still more than when he had lovely yellow poo!im going to ring the doctors today. I would of rang sooner but he seems fine. My daughter had abit of this too but wasn't quite so dark green and constant!anyine had the same?will the doctor be able to do anything?im sure I took my daughter about it and they brushed me off saying was normal?

I went through this and obsessed about it as you are doing! Rang NHS Direct, went to the HV, the GP.. Nobody had any answers. I got a variety of responses all of which, in short, concluded with "it's not a problem" but being the nut I am I continued to obsess over it fruitlessly, googling all types of stuff, for weeks! The green poo would come and go.. and I eventually realised it's just not that big a deal and it went away of its own accord! I wouldn't worry about it :)

My little one is formula fed so not much help but didn't want to read and run. I know formula fed babies have green poo because of the iron in the formula. Maybe it's something your eating? Like I said, I'm no help ;).

My son had this and it was because of a milk protein intolerance, but he had it pretty much from birth and he had a lot of other symptoms (basically he pretty much screamed all the time, could never be put down, reflux, wouldn't lie flat etc etc) so if your LO is content and it is a recent thing then I would doubt if that is the cause. I have noticed my DD has had this recently too but it seems to be worse in the evenings, and I do have an over active letdown so I kind of put it down to that. It could be a mild virus, something you're eating or just one of those things, but I would say the main thing is if your baby is content and there are no other symptoms then it's nothing to worry about.

thanks so much for your reassuring replies. Glad I'm not alone. I was worried it was a dairy thing and I should cut it out or an infection. I'm getting so obsesses over poo!lol he is very content and actually sleeping better now too so I'll just keep an eye on him
