Is green poop normal in formula fed babies?! (She's 2 weeks old) I've been noticing it the last few days! Her poop was a yellowish colour but its been getting progresively darker and darker! I can tell it's bothering her too because she screams and goes red in the face and brings her legs up tight to her chest..called emerg to see what they said and they said if I was concerned to come in but I don't want to have to go in for them to say its fine and just leave...but her doctor is also a moron (in the process of trying to find her a new one!)

Its quite normal for FF babies to have green poop , she may be in pain as sometimes Formula can cause constipation ..if you see her straining to much give her some gripe water it will sooth her and help to get soften the poop .

She may also have colic ..try holding her in colic positions and burp her often as shes still very young ..also may want to make sure she dose not have reflux ..spitting up often after feeds or arching her back while feeding a very sure signs

What exactly is gripe water  Can it be bought somewhere...I've read lots of people talking about it but I've never asked what it was

You can get gripe water at any place. If you go to Walmart its in the pharmacy with all the baby meds.

Is her poop runny? Renah's turned dark, dark green around 2 weeks and completely runny, it was the grossest thing you could have ever imagined, complete water works. We had to change her to Enfamil Lactose Free formula

Green is normal for ff babies because of the added iron. Jasmine was bothered by it too so we switched to enfamil with lower iron and her poop went back to normal soft, yellow/brown colored poop.

What the others said :) Green poop is normal for FF babies because of the iron.

Did it bother Jasmine's tummy at all switching different formulas? All the nurses at the hospital kept telling us how hard it is on a babies tummy to switch brands of formula as it can take up to 2 weeks for them to get adjusted ?

Renah did really well with the switch but I'd consult your doctor first.

I was told by my doctor to not switch a baby under 1 year old to a formula with lower iron as they need allot of it ?? confused now

Helena's poop is always green. She is on the GentleEase Enfamil.

Ok good to know! :)
I had a home nurse stop by today to take a look at my incision and she kept going on about how it's not normal for babies poop to be green! She also went on about how it wasn't normal for LeeAnne to throw up like she had been (she was really bringing up all her formula but I think she was eating to much!) so she has had me all worried all day (me? worried? NEVER haha!)

I was about to say Nestle Good Start makes green poo, but I see you're not using that one so nvm :)

You'll encounter tons of different colors over the first year...and beyond lol

Well I will admit she did have a bit of a cranky week, But we switched the same week she got her shots because she was having real issues with reflux... but... the formula before that was soy.

If you go from enfamil a+ to enfamil with lower iron it is essentially the same, except one has less iron.

It shouldnt bother her.
