Gretna Green

Just wondered if anyone has been married at Gretna Green and what ure experience was like? Just browsing through options at the moment as we havent set an official date yet and OH isnt that keen on getting married in a registry office and we arent really religious so kinda stumped for options lol.

I havent been to gretna so cant help with that!

Just thought i would say there is loads of places you can get married without it being registry or church. Hotels are a big one, or local country houses or gardens? look on your local councils website and it will give you a list of everywhere which is licenced to carry out ceromonies xx

I think getting married at gretna can be expensive because its gretna.

We got married at Gretna a place called the mill forge if you google it you will find lots about it, it was beautiful, it wasn't actually that expensive as we were able to get married in July and buy our first home in October. The pic on my avatar is from there they have a little church but you can opt for religous or non religous, the photographer was great a guy called Colin Wyper we got married at 2 and he had our album plus 2 presentation ones for our parents by 8pm, the grounds are beautiful for photos and the bridal suites and the staff were fantastic, it was a beautiful day enjoyed by all and I| wouldn't have done it any other way. There are also loads of florists that will deliver there and we had a hairdresser and beautician come to the room so all we had to do was shower and stick a robe on til all was ready. I would def recommend you look into it, good luck x

I am going to get Married at gretna and there are loads of Deals there too! We have decided we want to get married at the Mill too!

Have a look at the deals for just the marrage it cost £300 and the Deals/packages go up to £2500 so decide what suits u best! (thats if u chose to to get wed there)

I got married there at the anvil hall and had my reception at smiths hotel

i've looked into weddings here and think it looks fab! i love the idea, definitely look into it, there are some fab packages out there if you shop about
