Oh god it's starting isn't it? I had my last midwife appointment today before I fly out of our remote town to birth at a major public hospital. I am nearly 37 weeks. I don't have GD. I am a big girl (high bmi). I have had two previous c-sections with a 6 and a 7 pound baby respectively.
Since the beginning of this pregnancy I have had my heart set on vbac+2 and while not hugely supportive they haven't said no you can't. My blood pressure is steady, everything looks good. I'm walking out of the maternity ward happy as larry and the doctor pops out of nowhere. "Michelle! Lets get you a growth scan before you go."
What! Why? "Your measuring a bit big I think." .... I think well maybe thats because y'all can't agree on my due date. My dating scan at 12 weeks said April 6th, this doctor is insistent on taking my first scan at 7 weeks which said the 12th April. Oh how can they possibly get a good idea on the size of the baby I am going to birth. I really hope this doesn't cause issues with my impending vbac+2 . I know my Darwin midwife will support me but the doctors at the hospital could start troubles.
Oh I'm so cranky. Couldn't she just let me go.
