Grrr Brooke Radiology rant

I have my 20 week ultrasound today, I mistakenly thought it was at 10 am, but the receptionist said it isn't until 1 pm. Simple mistake, today is the 10th and with pregnancy brain and a bunch of year end school activities I simply wrote down the wrong time. No big deal. The receptionist was nice enough to see if they could take me earlier. While she was talking to the tech I could hear the tech say In a snarky tone "no of course we cannot take her early, why on earth wouldnt she wait until 1 pm?" what a arrogant cow, of course I will wait its my mistake, but I hope I don't get this woman come 1 pm! This place makes getting ultrasounds a hassle and every time I've been here there is always something for a tech to bitch about, even when I keep my mouth closed and smile, but that's a whole other post. Just sick of this place.

Well I might just be talking to myself, but went for my 1 pm appointment and what do you know that snarky tech was my tech for the hour. Lucky me. She gave me two face pictures that look exactly the same, can't even guess the gender. My next doctor appointment is in 4 weeks...maybe it's hormones and all the bad experiences with this place, but I just want to cry my eyes out, this pregnancy has not gone the way I was hoping from the get go and no one seems to be happy about this baby.

Awh I hope the next ultrasound is much better for you. I would be upset too!! Ultrasounds are supposed to be enjoyable for the people expecting.

I'm in Canada too. Had my ultrasound last week, it was the single worst experience ever. I feel your pain. Truly. Techs really need to rethink their careers if they are constantly in a bad mood.

Sorry you had a bad experience too. I don't know what goes through these techs minds and why the majority of them seem so miserable and lack tact. I'd be more then happy to sit on my butt taking baby measurements all day long.

Aw. how horrible. Can you get an elective scan done? Don't know if they have that where you are but I have a gender scan coming up and its only $99.

I know you can go for private 3d scans here, they are pricey. But I also go to the USA a couple times a week. They have a package of 2d scans for 95$, you get pictures and a dvd with music in the back round, I wanted to do this but DH didn't like the idea as much as I did/do. Men...pft.

Just want to give an update, my ob's office called today to give me the results of my ultrasound. I wasn't expecting a call from them, but was so happy they took the time to do it. I was told the gender and it looks like we are expecting a boy

Wonderful news, looks like there was some good at the end of the rainbow. Your Ob office sounds like they really look after their clients.
