Ok had my GTT done today, felt rubbish as you do from not eating for so long drink was alright tasted better then any of the others iv had done,
anyway 2 hrs later get second bloods done then go have some food but I sat in waiting room while partner went and got me something had that and then I was badly sick didn't even make it to the loo's and threw up all over the floor (sorry for TMI), both me and the MW have got a feeling Il fail the GTT but didn't say anything else about it,
what happens if I do? Iv googled it and it says Il have to do a 3 hour one which Im going to refuse as Its really made me ill,
has anyone on here had to have a second GTT and did you refuse if
so what happened?

Edit they also measured my bump (fundus) and im only going on 27 weeks and it says in my notes am 29cm but they didn't say anything is it normal to measure big at this stage? I know they are not accurate but just curious

Thought it would be better here

Sorry to hear about your bad experience :hugs:. You're right, if you fail the 1-hour, they send you for the 3-hour. You can refuse the 3-hour test but if you do that I'm pretty sure you will be treated as if you have GD then. You'll have to get a meter and start testing probably 4 times a day (when you wake up and then 2 hours after each meal).

Not sure about the fundal measurements as I'm never measured since I have growth scans every other week but from what I've read on this forum it seems those measurements can be inaccurate. I wouldn't be concerned with the baby being larger due to the possibility of GD though. My doctor told me that with GD the baby doesn't start really putting on weight until after 30/32 weeks. My little girl has consistently measured at the 50% percentile so far even though I have GD (since 6 weeks).

id rather just be treated as having GD than have it done again im still feeling ill from it so just keeping food to some fruit

thought fundal hight was fine as they didnt say anything about it i was just curious about it more
