Evening ladies,

I'm due my GTT in the morning, but I'm a little confused. I think I'm going for it a little too early. I think my mw has got my weeks mixed up. I've checked online that you should have it 26-28wks and obviously I'm 24-25wks at min. I'm thinking maybe I should cancel the appointment and ask for it in another week or two.

I know I should of called the mw today, but it's been a busy one and I thought well I'll just go anyway. Not so sure now tho.

Anyone got any ideas??

I had mine yesterday at 24+2, there was a lady there having hers at 17 weeks. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting.

Thanks for replying :)

I may just go for it then. Just don't want to fast and get there to find mw has decided to delay it for a bit longer. I've had the test 3 times before and it's the waiting around and having such a sugary drink on an empty stomach. I had lucozade before but this time they are giving me the glucose drink :(

Why are they doing glucose this time? I said i thought it would be a glucose drink to the phlebotomist but she said they don't do that anymore and just do the Lucozade. I didn't find it too bad, it filled me up but drinking it so fast took my breath away a bit. I thought baby would be more active after but she didn't make a move. Good luck x

My doc does it between 24 and 28. I'm having mine tomorrow.

They are doing the glucose drink this time as I'm in a different area and I guess they just do it differently. Must admit I would of preferred the lucozade.

Really annoyed now tho, as I've just realised I can't have any rennies or gaviscon tonight. :( :( :(

At my OB they give me whatever the drink is and make you chug it. But they also told me that it had to be between 26 and 28 weeks.

It might just be that my office just does things according to a certain timeline though. I'd trust whatever your OB wants to do.

I took gaviscon the night before (didn't know I shouldn't) and it did not seem to have affected my results. And I took it late, like 10:30 or 11 pm.

Also I think the test is supposed to be done between 24 and 28 weeks. Good luck ladies!

I am having mine at 19 weeks. I think 26-28 weeks is average, but truly it can be done at any point. My doctor had me do it twice in my first pregnancy just to make sure all was well. I passed both times, hoping for the same result this time around :)

I failed my 1 hour test, should've been under 140 and my level was 158 :( so I have to go do the 3 hour test tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it!

Thank u for all the replies ladies.

I got here today and mw knew how many weeks I was, so it's obviously fine. I had the glucose drink, which was no where near as bad as I expected, in fact I'd say I'd have it over the lucozade anytime. I'm just waiting for my second bloods to be done (45 mins to go). So boring waiting around :(

Just hope my results come back normal. I've not had a problem before, so keeping my fingers crossed this time.

Good luck to the other ladies going for theirs xxx

I had one at 10 weeks, will have one tomorrow at 24 +3 and I think they plan for me to have another one later on. In my case its because I have just turned 38, and maybe the twin pregnancy. Not that I've ever had any sugar issues. We get to choose from a lemon or an orange drink here, yum! :haha:

Mines booked for when I'll be 30+4 has anyone had it this further along? I thought 28 weeks was the cut off for it? Now I'm confused

I'm doing mine at 20 weeks. My doctor wanted to do it early as I have some risk factors. At first, the receptionist refused to make the appointment before 28 weeks, because she said it's "not accurate before 28 weeks," so my doctor had to explain to her that she wanted it done early and it would be perfectly accurate.

So it seems like even some people working in healthcare think it has to be at that certain time.

With my dd I failed with a 139, they made me do the 3 hour! I passed that luckily! This time around my level was 80! Thank goodness
