H&M maternity - which branches stock it?

Hi :flower:

I'm taking the day off work to do a bit of shopping and I quite fancy trying Hennes' maternity jeans. I know the Islington Angel branch stocks maternity stuff, but I was planning to do Oxford Street and surely one of the ones there also stocks it? Does anyone know?

(Also - normal jeans from H&M destroy my soul, I have to get them in such a big size compared to what I am in other shops. Has anyone found the same thing with their maternity jeans - should I go straight to the big sizes to avoid a pregnant changing-room meltdown? ;))

I hate maternity wear from everywhere, nothing seems to fit quite right. I did love the maternity jeans from red herring but them seem to fit so ill and keep falling down. As for H&M all their flagship stores stock maternity wear but again, I don't like their sizing. I have ranged from a size 14 to an 18 and had 14 being too big and 18 being way too small... God knows what is going on there.
The best fitting jeans I have are from New Look and not maternity wear but 2 sizes up from my pre-pregnancy size and they fit so much better than their own brand of maternity jeans.

Hey hun,

Not sure about which stores sell H&M maternity but I ordered my maternity jeans from there (as well as some cardies & tops) online and they are lovely! x

No idea but wanted to say that I love H&M maternity stuff (although have found them to be a little on the small side - I am a size 14/16 but usually have to get the XL size for skirts and trousers in their mat range).

PS The best mat jeans I have found are from Next and I don't normally like the cut or fit of their stuff.

x

Yeah, there is a pair I like the look of on their website but I just can't order from them without trying it - anywhere else I'm a 12 (occasionally a 10) in jeans, but H&M I end up being anywhere from 14-18. I think I'm bigger in the thigh and bum, and smaller in the waist, than they allow for. So on top of allowing for that, I'm not sure how the bump band would fit me, especially as my bump is still quite modest.

Glad you've got some lovely stuff though!

Dustbunny, thanks for info but :( at your experiences. I've heard really good things about the fit of the Topshop ones, but when I went to look they just looked a little too casual - I need something I can wear to work, the rest of the time PJs will do!

What I *did* see in Topshop, though, were some really gorgeous nursing bras - definitely going back for them. When my boobs finally grow.

Haven't tried the jeans myself but I wear my normal size in their maternity leggings. I think you have to take sizes in cheaper stores with a pinch a salt and look at the cut rather than the label. I've only bought maternity H&M in the Bromley store. The One New Change, City branch doesn't do it but I think the Bond Street one (opposite Bond St tube) does. At least they always used too. If you're heading that way then take alook at TopShop Oxford Circus. Thye have a really great maternity clothes section.

I have the Topshop Leigh skinny jeans in black. They look smart and fit nicely. I also have a small bump (admittedly I should still be lurking here not posting!) but with a loose top you can't tell that I haven't quite grown into them yet.

Oh, that's true - I didn't mean to slag off the smartness of all Topshop jeans, oops. I'm quite specifically only looking at bootcut ones (out of fashion, yes, but see aforementioned heavy hips! :haha:) and I really liked the idea of their below-bump ones as I think I'd find that much comfier.

Good to hear yet more good things about their maternity range, though!

I've got a preference for H&M at the minute as I still have a voucher I got for xmas... haha...

I just ordered one size bigger (10 when im usually an 8) and they fitted lovely... i wasnt sure they'd fit though but you can always send them back & get an exchange x

Haha, that's okay! :) I am not a jeans person at all, so they are my one sole experience of maternity jeans :) I wear them more like skinny trousers / smart leggings TBH.

The ones I saw in the H&M bromley store looked a little casual to me, but if they haven't been bleached or treated you can always buy some Dylon Clothes Dye (you can buy a washing machine one) and dye them. I've done that with loads of jeans in the past because I too prefer smarter ones so tend to dye cheaper jeans that fit well in the colour I want. Robert Dyas in the City normally hold the full range and I think John Lewis does too.

Tell us your secret for being able to walk around shopping on Oxford Street! I'd be too knackered just getting to the street from the tube station.

Hahaha! I think I've so far been quite lucky in that, although I'm exhausted, it's very much a mental exhaustion rather than a physical one, which is convenient. I don't know how much longer that's gonna last though!

For reference, in case anyone else is looking for exactly the same info in future - none of the Oxford Street branches stock maternity but Regent Street does and so does Tottenham Court Road. I hadn't realised my old clothes were becoming so uncomfortable until I put my new jeans on today! It's such a loooovely feeling and I look so unmistakeably pregnant in them... :)

If you look on their website here and click on the bit on the map that says filter, then ladies, then Mama, it will show you stores with maternity wear in any particular area.

I wear lots of their tops, but their jeans were terrible on me. The false front bit was so low, it was almost between my legs although they fitted really nicely everywhere else! I'm sure they suit some shapes better than mine though.
