Had a light "period", and now I'm having a second one? What's going on?

I started my "period" on Sunday the 16th (it was two days late). It was very light the whole time, although it still required a pad to manage. The blood was mostly brown with pink mixed in, and lasted for 5 days. It felt more like the END of a period than anything else. I wasn't sure if it was implantation bleeding, so I took a home pregnancy test after it ended (came out negative).

Now, exactly a week after this ended...I started bleeding again. And it's very, very heavy. It's been going on for about 4 days now and the blood flow hasn't eased up.

Another thing to note is that I haven't really been cramping at all, when my cramps are usually unbearable during my periods. I look like I gained some weight too, not sure if just bloating.

I'm extremely confused. This has never happened to me before. Has anyone else been through this? What could I be experiencing? Could it still be a pregnancy, but gone terribly wrong somehow?

Have you been on bc? Are your periods usually regular?
