Had a suprise baby shower

Oh my family and friends know how much I hate suprises..
So I really didn't expect it, I had no clue. Friday afternoon my mom wakes me up and tells me she wanna go to town and wants to go with me lol obviously she knew I would say yes..so we go oFf to town. We get to town she starts shopping for shoes I think we wheRE there for like 45 minutes. So we decided to go back home because the standing was getting me tired. Got home lol I walked in and I don't notice the decorations cause I'm looking at the TV..out of the blue 'SURPRISE!' lol I didn't expect it. My eyes just popped out. Reason why I hate surprises is that I cry. So I started crying..everyone was like "aaaaaaah". My friends pushed me of to my room and took me clothes offI was only wearing my bra and pants. They put make up on me lol in a very funny way. They did my hair I really swear I looked like a clown. They painted a smiley face on my bump haha..they told me to go look in the mirror in my room when I came back every single one of the poured me with baby powder . But I really had a great time, played games, they poured me with ice cold water..hehe..I really thought I was going to go into labour with these surprises.
Pointless threads but wanted yal to know. Did any of you have any surprise baby showers? Please tell me your stories

Heyyy at least u don't havta worry so much about preparing and getting all ur stuff now!!! that's a relief. Gosh that was so sweet of them (except the water icey cold. Swak days omg)

I had one just last sunday! My mom told me that she was doing a small family birthday party for me because my birthday was the week before. Then my grandmother called me in the morning asking if i wanted to go help her work, which is something she does all the time. We had to pass by my house to get to the place we were going to clean and she pulls into my driveway and tells me that she just wants to drop the cake off really quick and say hi. When i walked in the door the first thing i saw was a It's A Girl banner and the table all decorated with desserts and presents everywhere! I was not expecting anything like that at all! I didn't even think i was going to have a baby shower!

@aalz I had a lot of fun. I got nice things too. Got more clothes,a carrier, blankets, his toiletries....@katrkels11 I also didn't expect to even have a baby shower either. I didn't even expect it. Haha I love them baie

I'm glad you had fun. Baby showers arent very common here in the UK but I think I'd love one oh well.

I just had mine today!!!
It was so cute but soo overwhelming because I have a big family and so does my OH, and I had friends and old co workers there so I felt like I was bouncing around the room from conversation to conversation! It was stressful being the center of attention to that many people haha, but mine was no surprise. I wish it was though! My mom and I planned the whole thing, we did all the homemade favors and decorations and it took weeks!! This morning I had to wake up early to make food for it and the only thing I didn't have to do was decorate or clean up because my mom wanted me to be a little surprised.. But it went well and a lot of people showed up, and most importantly I got a LOT of stuff I would've had to buy for the LO! I didn't buy one baby thing I was waiting for my shower to be over to see what I have left to get, so now I'm just excited I'm half way prepared finally and I get to buy the other half of the stuff this week! Let the nesting commence...

Oh jeeze I got lots! my OH's parents bought us a crib, and the great grandma bought us the crib set, I got the swing and a stationary entertainer. I got the diaper bag I wanted, tons of clothes, a closet organizer, a snow suit, two bath tubs, a fold up changing table, lots of stuffed animals and receiving blankets, burp rags, spoons, bowls, pacifiers, diapers, wipes, grooming set, and all his soaps lotions and baby powder. I also got a glider to rock him in, and one of those carries where you can strap the baby to yourself. I was so excited!! now me and OH only have a few more things to get him! We went out tonight and got some stuff, like the bottles and nursing pillow I wanted Now all I have left to wait for is his arrival! I hope he comes early

Did you get tons of stuff at your baby shower? How much left do you need until you feel prepared? (as if we could ever feel fully prepared)

Didn't really get much cause I had already bought stuff before(shopping addict) got some more clothes, baby carrier, got some of babys toiletries, got a car seat. Mom tells me I don't have much left to do..but I just feel like there's so much to buy. Lol I'll never be prepared

I wish I could of bought stuff before! I knew about the baby shower the whole time so I was worried what ever I bought I would get again at the shower.. so I went without one baby thing until sunday! Actually me and the OH did buy the car seat a week before.. only because it was 300 dollars and we figured no one else would get us that!! But it was so hard all I wanted to do was start preparing as I only had a month left!! I got the nesting feeling around 6 months because I like planning and being prepared.. so I'm so relieved I can walk into a room full of baby stuff! We really shouldn't worry ourselves with being prepared because even if we realize we need something after the LO is born we can always run out to the store and get it! I don't know why I forget I can do that!

Noo not yet! I actually plan on doing that today I went out and bought the baby laundry soap last night so today I'm going to wash all his little clothes and put them all away in his closet organizer The OH and I also picked out his going home outfit last night! (I know were a little ridiculous..) so I know that will be going into the hospital bag! but other than that, I have no clue what to put in there. I'm going to have to research it and pop over in 3 tri to see what other ladies are putting in their bag. Did you pack yours yet??

Haha so cute..lol..uhm no I've got no idea what to even put in there I'm going to the doctors on the 3 dec n will be sent to the hospital to book for the 24th so I'll be getting a list on wat to pack

Oh that's good you get a list!! Go over in 3rd tri they have a thread right at the top about hospital bags.. I scanned through it real quick and already feel better about what to pack. I'm probably going to have an entire suitcase..
Can I ask why you decided to have a scheduled c sec? I'm going to go for a natural vaginal birth and am so scared something serious will go down that will result in a c sec
But as long as my LO comes out healthy is all I care about!!

I gotta get baby out before I go back to school as I'll be giving birth 7 Jan and 9 Jan school opens and who knows maybe baby will come overdue..I'm getting really excited though I really can't take being pregnant anymore. My body is just breaking...don't wanna go to hospital anymore cuz I'm outta breath

Wow that's only two days!! Whos going to watch the LO while you're in school?
And I know what you mean... its getting harder and harder even to just go up stairs I find myself constantly winded I really can't wait to not have a ginormous belly anymore!!

the stairs are the big killer. To this day I just don't know how I managed to go up and down the stairs to attend classes. Sadly he'll be going to a daycarereally didn't want that but couldn't find someone to stay home with him. I also can't wait this belly be heavy but will most def miSs the kicking and the moving about in my belly

Ugh I have a set in my house and I go up and down them at least 20 times a day! My feet are sore by the end of the day and I don't even do anything And that's okay even though it'll be really hard school is worth it.. and you get to have a little break during the day so that'll feel good. (even though that'll probably be the last thing you want ) And I know I will definitely miss him being with me at all times! I still seriously can't wait though !! He can come any day and I would be happy

Haha I sometimes think that humans should be like kangaroo and have a poach and carry baby everywhere..hope your lil one will behaves and arrives soon So jealous I have to wait for the 24th

Haha that's funny my OH and I mentioned something about a kangaroo yesterday!!

And I know I'm really hoping he does! I'm going to ask my doctor tomorrow what my chances are of him coming early.. even though I doubt he'll know. They come when they wanna come I suppose

And at least you know the exact day you get to meet him! I was thinking last night how some sort of machine that could exactly predict what day you go into labor would make millions because every pregnant woman would buy one. The anticipation is killing me! The craziest wait I've ever had to experience!!
