Leon Dale McCall is here! He weighs 7lbs 12oz!!
So I had a doctor appointnent today to get cervix checked, and after a weekend of false labor, and taking castor oil the day before, I discovered I was 4.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced! MW said that I was ready to have him, so she stripped my membranes, admitted me, and I started my labor journey!!
I started out walking to get contractions going around 11:30am, to no avail. all it did was dilate me to a 5. She said she was going to send me home if nothing happened or changed soon, and left me for an hour. When she came back and checked me, BAM, my waters broke. She also discovered I was 90% effaced. Thank goodness my waters broke, or else I wouldve went home, only to have my water break later.
So at around 4pm, I got my first contraction, and they came 5 minutes apart. I then labored for the next 2.5 hours with no medication.
after that, I decided to go to some IV meds because the contractions were 2.5 minutes apart, And I was getting exausted. I was put on a morphine derivative, and it worked wonders. After this, they offered me an epidural many times, but I never gave in.
By 9:20 pm I was pushing, and by 10:29pm, my little boy was out and ready for skin to skin.
He was taken to nursery due to some breathing issues (breathing too fast), but now I have him (2:00am) and I'm ready for some SLEEP! lol
