Just had my consultant appointment through. It's not until 3rd June when I'll be nearly 29wks.

Does that seem about right? I heard it was around 26wks. I know it's only 2 and a bit weeks later but still.

My twins are DCDA twins.

Hmm. Not sure. At my twins clinic I saw the consultant every 2 weeks from about 12 weeks ( I think). Does anyone else monitor your?
I had dcda identicals and they had a horrible weight discordance ( not that anyone noticed) so I know they are considered lower risk I think it's good to have an eye kept on them.

I had my booking appt then 12 week scan. I've got an appt with the mw at 16wks then should have my 20 week scan. Thought my consultant appt would have been just after that scan, not 9 weeks later.

Yes I agree. I had midwife appointments at the same time. The way my hospital worked was you saw everyone on the same day every 2 weeks. That said a lot of it was a waste of time. Can you call and request an earlier appointment?

I'm going to mention it to the mw at my 16wk appt and see what she says.

I have had the specialist in my care every since 11W. I have had atleast 1 scan a month from teh specialist and 1 a month from my standard OB and then they compare notes.

I'm in UK and I think I was scheduled something similar for 1st consultant app at ~28 weeks (I was DCDA also).
I defo didn't get a consultant appt with my 20 week scan.
However, I ended up having problems (pPROM) which was recognised at ~23 weeks so after that I started having monthly consultant appts.

I would say that if your twin pregnancy is "normal" and low risk then 29 weeks would be ok as all you'd be discussing is delivery options and theoretically there is still plenty of time to mull that over!
I found the scans more useful than the consultant appts anyway.

Will I get scans between the 20wk scan and my appt or will they start after?

My concern now is I need to tell work when I want to start my maternity leave before I'm 29 wks and want it to start when I'm due to have them. I have 4 wks holiday I need to take before maternity starts. I don't know how long they'll let me go or if they'll let me go ask long as it takes.

With DCDA in my pct they deliver at 37 weeks, if you haven't gone before. Good luck working up to the end, I did it with my eldest but was on my knees with twins from around 26 weeks. X

I've been off work since week 20! If I can barely walk let alone work

All hospitals have different policies for twin pregnancy managament.

In mine they did 4 weekly scans after 20 weeks and would aim to deliver DCDAs at 37-38 weeks depending on any other issues.
I did the same with holiday and took four weeks before my maternity started and I took maternity at 35+ weeks... so effectively left work at 31+ weeks.

If you don't have an appointment before you have to let work know then contact the hospital and ask what their policy is for an uncomplicated DCDA delivery. They should be able to tell you what week is normal. I am assuming here that your pregnancy is "uncomplicated" thus far?
Your community midwife should really know the local hospital policy also.

Yes it seems uncomplicated so far. I am definitely going to speak to my mw next week. Thanks.

My job is 2 minutes from my house and pretty easy going and I only work school hours. I would much rather plod along as far as I can and get the extra time off after with the babies. But we shall see.

Mine are MoDi, I'm 10+3 and I've already had 3 ultrasounds, next one is next week! My clinic monitors wins closely.
