I have some that you plug in and they heat up inside their box but they are more for curls than volume. I think for volume you need big velcro-y ones? I'm sure someone will come along with better knowledge than I have
For bounce and volume you need the big ones not the curly, bendy or thin ones.
You can get heated ones to use on dry hair or normal ones which I put in when my hair is still slightly damp (and I mean slightly else your hair will break) and dry them with a hair dryer to set.
You'll need a few big ones and a few medium ones depending on your hair length/thickness.
Find done tutorials on YouTube. Can be a bit fiddly first go do have a few practice runs
I have these Trever Sorbie ones from boots, they're really good. There's three sizes and you start with the massive ones at the top and medium in the middle with small at the bottom.
I have some babyliss heated ones that are really good, I've had them years though, and I have the velcros ones too. You need the big/medium ones depending on your hair length. I prefer my heated ones because I can dry my hair and leave it a little damp, or if it's gone dry I spritz a little heat protection spray on to dampen it a little, chuck them in and carry on doing my makeup and getting dressed and then they're done by the time I've finished
Get the big velcro ones- the wider they are the less "curl" it gives and more bouncy/voluminous your hair is. You can get them cheaply in boots- will look at a price for you tomorrow when I go shopping
