Hi, Ive woken up this morning with an awful sore throat and I wondered if any ladies knew if its ok to suck on halls or tunes for my throat?
Sounds daft really but I know there isnt much us pregnant ones can do for a cold....I'm diabetic too so it has to be sugar free.

I was going to ring my pharmacy but thought someone on here may know before I do xx

You can have tunes and halls the sugar free versions (most are) but not strepsils as they actually have anaesetic and antiseptic ingredients in them...try the sugar free menthol halls extra strong, theyre fine :) Also get some olbas oil...its a godsend lol and pop 1 drop in a bowl of hot water and inhale the steam...it helps clear out the nasal passages in no time and is perfectly safe..my mw recommended it too me...also put a few drops of olbas oil or eucalyptus oil in a large bowl or dish of water and place under the radiator in your bedroom, it helps make the air a little more moist which is better when your sleeping, as heating is really drying and can make us pregnant ladies more sniffly lol! xxxx

You can buy some dissolvable paracetamol and gargle with that every 4 hours which helps, as does gargling with salt water which helps get rid of your sore throat sooner.

Honey can help - I occasionally have a blob in some warm milk if my throat is very sore it's very soothing but not everyone would think it tastes nice!
