Hi all I've just moved over from first tri  moved over a little early as had my scan and all good and I don't feel I belong in first tri any more so hope you don't mind! :flower:

I had a driving lesson yesterday and my instructor had to slam the breaks on for me  whoops! Anyway I totally didnt expect it, it scared the bejesus out of me! I was worried about the force of the breaking on the baby? I know I will aborsb most of the shock and my seatbelt was between my boobs across my body and the lap part was low down across my pelvis but it tightened quite a bit.

It's put me off my lessons a bit though as I didnt like it....

I would just ring your MW hunni and make sure she doesn't want to see you. Porbably nothing to worry about though :hugs:
xx

hey ness hunny, great to see you over here

i wouldnt worry about it too much as you say the baby is well protected in there and you were wearing your seatbealt correctly as you should when pregnant. Hope the MW puts your mind at ease chick.

Hope all is ok.

xxx

Baby is still way low down by your pelvis and is very very protected by the fluid. I try to put the seatbelt under my bump but it just doesn't stay there at the moment!

Don't let it out you off learning to drive hun, but maybe ask your mw for some advice x x

Hi Laura  thanks sweetie lovely to be over here albeit a little early but defo outgrown the worries of 1st Tri lol hope you're doing well and thank you for the advice xx

Thank you anna matronic! You're right bubs is still pretty low down and well protected. I text my mw just in case and she hasnt replied yet so she can't be too worried lol so I'm not worrying.

Thank you for the advice xx

I had a driving test when I was about 4 month pregnant and was told the emergency stop would still take place as even if you are pregnant then you have to be able to do it safely.
Just make sure seat belt is below your bump.
Ive done a few practices on the emergency stop on my lessons and no harm done
P.S. Failed my test!!!!!!!! Next one on 2 weeks :) x

Oh sorry you failed hun! I failed back in November got my next one booked for 12 July just want to get it done with now!

I did wonder about the emergency stop but suppose in real life if it happened you have to be able to perform it safely as you said.

Good luck with your next text xx

yey welcome to 2nd tri hun :)

im sure you'll be fine, bubs is well protected but hope the mw puts your mind at ease!

ha i failed my test 3 times and passed on my 4th!!! lol xx

It will be my 3rd test!! Im failing on STUPID things (like not seeing a mini roundabout up ahead of me and having to slam on the brakes......)

Im desperate to pass now too. Good luck to you too! x

i know how you feel mine was always silly things that were usually down to nerves!

just keep at it and you'll be fine :flower:

Thanks Shellie! lovely to be over here :flower: it took my sister 6 attempts to pass I'm surprised she didnt lose the will to live!

I failed the first time on lane positioning - mainly cos the stupid examiner didnt give me enough notice of direction so this time I'll be asking him lots of questions as to where we're going to make sure I'm prepared.

MW still not got back to me and heard bubs on my doppler this morning so I'm not going to worry, I think it was the fact that my instructor slamming the dual controls on frightened me to death and the seatbelt tightened hard on my pelvis it just shook me up a bit xx

Hey hun, I read yesterday (don't ask me why must have been this thread!) about car accidents when you are pregnant. Basically the baby is so well protected there is very little damage hard braking will do.

Saying that, they worry is that the placenta gets damaged and causes an abruption, but you would know about that (pain and bleeding)

Always best to get check out if you are worried x

thank you chick :flower: haven't had any pain or bleeding except some ligament pain that I had before so nothing different there!

xx
