Has anybody had a growing Gestational sac / yolk sac but no baby ?

I'm so angry and overwhelmed I just need to talk and rant and get it all out.
Basically I'm currently going through a missed misscarriage, my third loss in total (1 x ectopic 1 x previous Mmc)

I had my usual early scan at 7 weeks to be told it only looks 5 weeks and to come back for another scan. That was today, I was supposed to be 9 weeks.

There is no visible baby/heart beat.
But the gestational sac and yolk sac has continued to grow from one scan to the next so they are not allowed to offer me any management, even though we all know that this isn't going to end well.

I knew before even going in for my scan today that it wasn't good news, I'd been spotting all week too, and was mentally preparing myself for an ERPC or medical management, to commence straight away.

Now I have to wait another week for a confirmation scan (waste of time)...
If I'm 9 weeks as per LmP, even with a mess up in dates/late ovulation or implantation, there should be a baby visible today.

It's so unfair

Has anyone else had a growing GS and Ys but no baby forming ?

I’m sorry to hear this. I just had a Mmc and d&c because my baby quit growing at 6w1d. Both sacs did keep growing and were both the size of 9w which they should’ve been. Isn’t exactly like your situation but similar. I wish you the best.

Last year I went through a blighted ovum and then 6 months later I fell pregnant. On my 8 week appointment they couldn't find a heart beat, I went back 2 weeks later and still no heart beat diagnosed MMC. I decided to go with the d&c to just bring it to an end. November 17th was my due date, it was a rough day.

I had this happen in January 2015. I went in for my early 7 week scan, and there was a yolk sac and 7 week size sac, but no baby. I knew it was bad, but they wanted me to come back in 7 days for a re-scan. On the 6th day, I had my natural miscarriage at home. I had no symptoms, nothing, and it was so so shocking and horrible and sad. The next day for my re-scan I went in to make sure the miscarriage was complete - one nurse thought I was there for my normal ultrasound and started asking about the baby, etc. and I just burst out in tears. It was hard to even think about for months.

I've since had another baby, conceived in July 2015, born in April 2016. My whole pregnancy with him was a little more fraught with emotion and nerves.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I've suffered three losses, but the worst was my last, because that one was the only one I let happen naturally. The first two I was pushed into D&Cs. The last one I wanted to make sure it really wasn't viable. It was hard because I had to have weekly scans and was disappointed each time when there was no baby. I had my first scan at what was supposed to be 7 weeks. The sac was measuring 7 weeks but it was empty, only an enlarged yolk sac was visible. I had two more until I was 9 weeks when I started bleeding... then we knew it was over. I will never forget it. It is incredibly unfair to be that 1 in 4.
